I was black flagged for loose hood on Thursday 6/14/18. Turn worker at start finish noticed the fender edges of the hood were lifting as I passed. Speed was around 145 mph. Top speed was 158 entering the turn 2 braking zone. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
Yesterday at Pacific Faces at my highest speed 158 mph and three laps at 1.34 minutes, video will be on facebook, and hopefully here when processed. Boy do I love this car.
Realizing your mind, tires and oil are all COLD I would never let a student turn off anything on a short course. Autox is ok, there is run off areas but with concrete around I would rather my students drive their car home intact.
I had the 5.0 PP for 2 years. Put on sway bars, cold air and a tune. Great changes from stock. Ran Cup 2's . The car was ferocious on the track but still fun on the street. Now I get to beat up on more of my Porsche buddies.
I understand. Friday track day I finally got to play with a new ZL1. Same Cup 2 tires. After he got his car sideways twice he let me by. Very competent driver, just not enough car for road racing. Was fun. Beat up on my friends R8 and a Porsche GT4 on slicks. Then came home an took the wife to...
Beautiful car by the way. Come to the track and learn about your car and both capabilities. You will have an instructor so it is safe in a group of nubies going the same direction and speed. Relatively easy on the car, gets brake dust on it, but that washes off. Learn the cars performance before...
The biggest get together in the NW. Mustang Northwest is having a three day get together in a couple of months. Research the event. We play at the track, have BBQ and a giant car show. Pick some stuff!
Everything is subject to size and pressure. I run Cup 2's in the rain hard and love them but mine are 305/325 19s. Little tramline problem but then again tire pressure is the key. Running Hoosier s day in and out doesn't work to well on the pocket book. The street tires get used for trips.
My friend with the 2015 has the recarro seats and they show no wear. But if it were me for a daily driver I would get the heated/cooled seats. We had those in our 2015 GT and loved them. This 350 doesn't go out in cold weather, we have a 17 Raptor (matching color), and my daily driver 4 door F150.
I ran my GT for 2 plus years hard at our local HPDE events, I'm a Senior Instructor for Porsche NA and BMW, so I do run pretty hard. The mods I did were xpipe and program. Nothing else. Keep the revs up and the car will run strong. Good luck.
Kevin, I did beat up Phil pretty bad that day. Passed him 3 times running hard as we sometimes do. The 3 late model Porsche GT3's would get me in the corners but as they found drag racing me on the straight s wasn't productive. Was lots of fun. Laid down some 1.27/1.28 g turned. The car was...
