I actually did start roughing out some rear 3/4 views. I have atleast 1 maybe 2 more articles I gotta get done for Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords in the near future. I've also been busy with my 06 GT. Got a new extractor hood fitted and ready for paint and then the longtube headers and high flow...
Hey guys - one of my predictions is that the rear side quarter window and door window will be one continuous shape vs. being separate design elements like the current S197. From the looks of the cutout opening - it's pretty close to the door window opening - looks like it could be what I...
BTW - I've gotten a lot of very positive feedback on my GT500 concept and my general direction from a couple magazine editors, for the most part on most forums, etc....all except one...S197forums that I frequent. I find it rather amusing that the retro guys don't like my concept at all LOL! But...
All you guys are right on! Guess who else is knockin on Mustang's door? Hyundai! They WILL be offering an affordable 2 door V8 sports coupe eventually. They already have a 4 cam 5.0 V8 engine...that's right a Korean 5 point 0!!!
Check out the concept...Squint just a little bit - what do you...
GTsquid nailed it on the head. If you pay attention to the things Ford is hinting at for the next Mustang they are taking things more upscale and quality will continue to be one of the main goals. I read that Ford would be spending a lot of attention on the interior, quality materials and...
I hand sketch everything first to rough out my ideas before I ever go to the computer. Nothing can replace "the hand" when getting ideas flushed out. One thing I will never stop doing is sketching on paper. I have a Wacom tablet at work that I sketch on sometimes designing products but I still...
Thanks, appreciate it. Yeah the wheel flares are missing some reflection work because a ran out of time. I really could've used about another 4-5 hours to make it punch in a couple areas more than it does. But deadlines are deadlines and you just do the best you can.
Look forward to seeing your...
Thanks. I think no matter what kind of Mustang concept anyone dreams up - somehow somebody will be able to "see" Camaro in it. Don't get me wrong I'm fine with that. You have to take chances and try different directions to come up with something new that isn't just like the last. So this look...
Yeah I love my 2006 GT but I'm not particularly fond of the segmented side windows. That's why I'm buying the Cobra Jet flush window louvers and having them painted body color. That will sorta "hide" that window some and add a cool detail. I mean i get it and all - very 60s fastback looking in...
I did not use spy pics or anything. I knew it was to be retro and I had always had the idea for a slanted back '69-esque front nose. I went with a more squared off '69 type fender lip style but the current round style offers more room and clearance for bigger tires.
I'm not privy to any info at all. I know a lot of guys that work closely with Ford and they don't know anything - or they are really good at keeping secrets :)
Thanks all for the feedback.

Yeah I did say something about a rear LOL! I've been BUSY as heck actually designing S197 parts that are going into production. Here we go - again no details until the parts are available LOL!!!

I need to get more caught up but I will work on one as mentioned previously.
I thought this might be interesting. I thought it would be fun to put all of them together so you could better see the exterior design and styling progression from the first sketch (top) to the final rendering (bottom).
When I did the first one I knew I still had more work to do but I thought...

This was the rough sketch that was the 3rd generation after the gray one that was posted up here a few times. I showed this to Evan from the magazine on a Sunday night and he said have it for me by Tuesday a.m. to make the print date. Think I made it by 12 maybe it was too late but either way...

Thanks man - check it out again - I finally uploaded a crisp resized version. There's still some reflection work i hadn't finished on it and I'd like to play with the quarter panel a smidge more.
A couple people that have seen this picked up on it - anyone see where I was going with the front of...
OK guys, I got my issue finally and the rendering is in it! Hopefully you guys dig it and was worth the wait. Other than my logo and the copyright at the bottom this is the rendering in the July issue of Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords.
Looking at it I still love it but there's still a couple...
