Which Kissimmee auction are you referring to and what made that auction event unique?

Any examples of questionable hammer pricing that you can share with us?
It was in January.
There was a large Ferrari collection that was very unique. Prices went skyrocketing. An Enzo went for 17M.

Obviously I grew up in a different era than many of you when it comes to purchasing and driving HP automobiles and in particular Mustang.

Fully understand how most enthusiasts want to have AC in their HP Mustang in this era but when attending HPDE's in the 70's, 80's and 90's it was never a factor for myself and for most of my fellow car buddies.

Was fortunate to own 3 Base R models from new and drove all of those vehicles while residing in South Carolina, Arizona and California and yes some days it got hot but something that I have always lived with and was to be expected with vehicles like the Base R as well as the 1993 and 2000 Cobra R models.

Back in October 2015 myself and other Ford enthusiasts were invited to test drive some 2016 GT350/R pre-production units at the Sebring and during our day of driving Track Pack but mostly R models, not once did I encounter AC being used let alone any participants dropping out due to heat exhaustion.

With respect to the 1st year run of the 2015 Base R models which consisted of 6 regular production examples, I found it interesting that it was numerous Ford execs and Ford senior management who when checking off the boxes for their new 2015 GT350R, they chose to purchase a Base R model as their vehicle of choice which confirms just how much they think of the Base R model.

F0001 went to Bill Ford and F0004 went to the present CEO of Ford namely Jim Farley who is certainly a true automotive enthusiast.

After owning F0004 for quite some time I understand that a deal was made to sell F0004 to "Mr. Cobra" namely Lynn Park after which time Lynn and his two sons regularly track F0004 at Willow Springs and other track facilities all without AC.

Also recall another Ford exec only wanting to drive and track a Base R model and that was Jamal Hameedi who was the Global Chief Engineer for FP at the time.

Jamal ordered his 2017 GT350R Base model in late 2015 after which time "HR001" finally being built on March 8th, 2016.

Again Jamal could have ordered an Electronics Package R model but decided that a Base R model was the R model of choice for him therefore again confirms just how much appreciation he and other Ford execs have for the Base R model and all of its attributes.

Each to their own and certainly respect all those GT350R enthusiasts who just have to have AC in their vehicles while driving on or off the track but for those of us that don't need AC, radio, navigation, floor mats along with sound deadener and many other deleted features, it doesn't get any better than piloting a rare and exciting Base R model whether on or off the track!

Just have to say you are one of the most gracious respondents on this and other threads. Lesson to all.

I saw that incredible Ferrari collection and are you suggesting that the hammer prices for some of those vehicles were not legitimate?
