Hi everyone,
I’m a Mustang GT owner based in South Korea. I recently completed a full oil service for my Gen 3 Coyote and thought it would be interesting to share the cost breakdown for a global comparison.
Here in Korea, a full premium service for the 5.0L V8 costs about $115 (approx. 173,000 KRW). I’m curious to see how this compares to your local dealership or independent shop prices in the States.
Here is the breakdown of the $115 service:
Standardized Labor System: The labor is handled through a professional service model commonly used here for BMW, Audi, and other performance cars. You bring your own parts, and they charge a flat, transparent labor fee based on the engine type. For a V8, the labor is a fixed $22. It’s a very efficient system that keeps maintenance costs for big engines like the Coyote very manageable.
About the Brand: For those unfamiliar with the brand, ZIC is the flagship motor oil of SK, one of Korea’s largest energy conglomerates. It’s definitely not a "budget" or "no-name" brand; it's a household name here and holds official approvals from Mercedes-Benz (229.5 It’s actually considered over-spec for daily driving, but it's the standard for enthusiasts in Korea.
I’ve always wondered about the price gap between the Mustang's home country and Korea. What do you guys usually pay for a similar full service (10 quarts of full synthetic + filters) at your local shops or dealerships? Looking forward to hearing your side of the story!
