I am shopping for a used Ecoboost Mustang convertible. I found a good deal on a 2018 with 41k miles with the 10 speed auto. I have been reading about issues with this transmission. I am having the car delivered so I won’t drive it till it arrives. It looks great in the walk around videos though. It does have power train warranty left and surely they are not all bad?

Huh? Sorry, I just don't understand posts like this? You read a few posts, are nervous about your purchase but yet went ahead with the purchase anyways?

I think if you would have been more thorough in your research, the VAST majority of A10 owners like myself have had little or no issues with the A10.

Much less issues than mt82's I would suspect.. these a10's can handle like 800 rwhp.

the A10 is fine. and if it breaks it can be fixed or replaced. its not going to blow your car up into little pieces. i used to be scared of every little noise and my dad finally asked why are you scared? if it breaks we will fix it. so buy the car you want and enjoy it. and if it breaks there are replacement parts. its not like its a one of a kind vehicle built custom and by hand.

The issues with the 10R80 are few and far between. What you see here on this forum in the grand scheme of total M6G members who own 2018+ w/10R80 and may have had an issue, even when lumped in with ALL 10R80 owners that don’t even post here is probably +/- 1% of total production between 2018 and 2020.

The (2) most common issues found seems to be:
A) low fluid fill from the factory (why that is happening no one knows).
B) Software update needed

Outside of those commonalities, the next would be the valve body. As stated in the “facts” thread I started on here, a valve body issue does NOT affect all 10R80’s and is not a prevalent problem in all 10R80’s.

Get the car, drive it and enjoy it. If you feel it’s shifting out of the ordinary (harsh or delayed shifts), take it in for diagnosis. The powertrain warranty is 5/60, so even if the 3/36 is done, the trans is still covered under the 5/60.

Currently, there’s probably more COVID19 cases than 10R80 repairs... LOL

And there’s members on here pushing lots of HP through stock 10R80’s and have never had a drivability issue.

I'm racing a November 2019 A10 build just converted to a racecar and love it! It is porsche PDK performance without all the DCT drama.
