What the Hell is Wrong with Us?

I know this will get moved to the "Off Topic" thread but I wanted as many members as possible to see it. This is "NOT" a political statement. It is a "HUMAN" statement. I screen printed these off of Meet the Press this morning which I have watched for at least 50 years. The first print is a setup for the second so keep reading.

So the first print is nothing new. These numbers haven't really changed much since 2017. Honestly don't really care. The second print is downright frightening. We have a Worldwide pandemic on our hands and people are making serious healthcare decisions based on political lines. This is insane. All of us need to get on the same page. I do not care what party you are behind. I do not care if you love or hate our President. None of this matters. What matters is our lives, our families lives, the lives of our friends and co-workers. Let's take this seriously and put all of the political BS on the back burner. We can take it up again when everyone is safe.

Amen! I read an article by a man who returned from China who said they felt safer there than in the USA. People here are not taking this seriously enough. Many of us in this forum are probably in the high risk category.

When you belong to a party that believes scientists are paid shills with an agenda, and it consistently beats that drum, you get this.

Also when you have a main stream media that constantly prints half truths and downright incorrect stories you get a lot of people that don't believe what they say. The MSM lied 100,000 times since Trump got in office, why should I believe them now?

I really wish the MSM could tell the truth. It would be nice to have good sources of information available.

It will be interesting in hind sight to compare this to the H1N1 when the MSM was protecting the president rather than trying to unseat him.

What I'm getting at is that it's not the political persuasion driving the numbers. Except for the question of approval/disapproval of Mr. Trump's handling of the matter, which at this point has become a far too partisan question.

What's more likely is that conservatives are more willing to take an early wait-and-see attitude, while liberals inherently have a mindset more toward "gotta do something right now" and especially "government gotta do something right now". Conservatives tend to be older, where gatherings aren't as significant a part of their lives (clubs, sporting events, work, own kids in school, etc.), and it's easier to avoid peak traffic times in places like stores and similar places where face to face interaction takes place.

Jesus wouldn't be a Democrat or a Republican! Stop chasing after a party and start chasing after Him. When your truth lies in a political party then you will always be driven by lies disguised as truth.

Maybe Christians should stop taking direction on how to live out our lives from a political party and start opening the Holy Word of God so that we can start living our lives by His standard.

You are right though. Chuck Todd said at the end of today's MTP that this isn't a Republican thing. It's not a Democratic thing. It's a Earth thing. You want to lay blame, Blame the earth.

Now if G-d were able to supply some more testing kits, that would be nice.

Jesus absolutely was a progressive. Think about it, and that we're only a month away from celebrating a very significant event that's pertinent to . . . let's call it "differences of opinion" and leave it at that.

Never mind that differences between religions has cause far more human anguish than philosophical differences between the major political parties.

I agree it would be great.

I don't think it's possible. I'm resigned to it. When the Bernie supporter shot a republican elected official at a softball game the republicans and the president said "this is not the time for politics." Every single time a conservative crazy person shoots at people (most of) the democrats politicize it and try to get new laws passed.

I think that's why this country has continued to drift farther and farther left. One side thinks that the ends justify the means and they don't play by the rules. That's exactly why I don't agree with the environmental agenda. Too many people have been exposed as not telling the truth. They think they are doing good by exaggerating so it's ok. Those people make it really difficult to figure out what is true and what isn't.

IOW, journalism a lot closer to what it was 70 years ago. Front page vs op-ed. Information without as much agenda.

Can’t say I have any concern myself. I’m out doing things just as normal, but I’m a healthy 29 year old. Just feel it’s over blown, zero interest in changing a single activity in my life due to “a pandemic”

Not a single co worker of mine (police and government) has a concern either. Idk, we are all 20s and everyone seems to have same mindset as myself.
