broke left half shaft and broke spider gears. Ordered 350 shafts, and torsen diff. Shop installed both (good friend of mine) and the bill was $1350. Kinda feel like it shouldn’t be near this, especially when I bought the parts. Opinions please.

Replacing a diff takes maybe 4-6 hours max imo (and the halfshafts have to come out anyways so no extra time there).

That's over $200/hour assuming a 6 hour job (which it isn't).

Always get multiple shop quotes if you can.

I’ll have to look it up at the shop to tell you what “Book” time is, which is what most shops would charge, book time is a fixed fee for every task on every car ever made, published through Chiltons, Direct-Hit, etc. Not sure but iirc it should have been between $500-$700.
Having said that, I’ve taken the diff out of mine, on a lift it takes me just over an hour, by myself, with air tools.

Had new diff , new halfshafts, and vert links done for $550...so yeah

Pays 7hrs to r&i the differential. If you bought just the torsen unit and the gears had to be swapped to the unit and setup, its another 1.5-2hrs. Plus an alignment when it all goes back together.. Did you buy the fluid, etc? Does seem on the high side for sure.
