Programming spare key

I picked up a spare key ( my car only came with one) and per the owners manual I need to use two keys (one at a time) in the slot under the cup holder. My question is can I just use my one key twice or is there a work around?

Need to use two keys, otherwise you're looking at a trip to a dealer to program it.

Think about it this way, if you stole the one key, you could make a clone with no problem. If both keys are stolen, well...you done fucked up and they deserve the clone!
