9,200 miles accrued since taking delivery in Feb 2018... no issues.

Adaptive learning takes a bit to settle the 10R80, but even so, the trans is far superior to the previous 6R80.

One other note, if owners feel the trans may be “lugging” when approaching hills or when in slow moving traffic, just manually downshift it using the paddles. It essentially comes natural to me anymore, just like driving prior manual transmission vehicles - downshift manually when needed, it’s really not that difficult... LOL

PLUS - some of the complaints are coming from those who don’t know about the adaptive learning AND the magazine journalists who hop in a 10R80 equipped Mustang for a 30min jaunt and proceed to trash the trans... the 10R80 is very stout and the abuse some give it is testimony to how well it performs in the Mustang.

The Ford Service Center cannot void anyone’s warranty UNLESS it can be proven without a doubt that a user added modification is what did cause a catastrophic failure... so as an example, if someone upgraded their exhaust and the transimission blew up, the trans failure is miles apart from an exhaust upgrade causing the immediate failure.

If his Service Center is going to give him shit about any such mod that has NOTHING to do with the trans problems, then he needs to call the Ford 800# and start a case about not only the trans failure on a new car, but the ignorance of that Service Center.

Some of the early reported 10R80 problems were something having to do with the mechanics of the valve body.
