New to the forum guys; nice to see an active community for the mustang!

1st Question: What do you guys think of Bama Tunes?

2nd Question: Are there any problems with the transmissions in the S550? I just got mine about 2 weeks ago and I hear a tiny bit of grinding sometimes and it doesn't feel as sturdy as the transmission was in my 2008 gt.

Just wanted to make a good first post on here. Any insight or opinions would be gladly accepted.

1. Not what they used to be.

2. Don't hustle it until you get the fluid flowing.
What caused them to taper off?

It's mostly at around 2.5k rpm that I'm shifting should I be going higher than that?

1. Concerning Bama: There are better tunes.
2. Manual trans: I have had no problems with my MT82, zero. Many others on this site have had no issues as well. Going a little further, the auto trans guys seem to love theirs, very few problems from what I've seen.

2: Change your Trans fluid - I put in Royal Purple (others use BG) and it improves the notchiness significantly. Easy job for around $50

1. Many people here currenty use and will recommend the Lund Racing tune (w/ nGauge).

When I tune mine, I'll be going with Lund Racing as well.

+1 on the Bama tune being not so good. If you watch the video on AM site regarding the VMP tune with tuner, they refer to VMP as being a "top tier" tuner. They are a Bama distributor so they can't really say anything negative, but I've never heard them refer to Bama as "top tier".

Just my .02

On item 2, I have an auto trans and have no issues at all.

Had bama on a few vehicles.. not really the greatest tunes I've had. I had too many issues to be comfortable using them again.

Trans wise, cars been great. Typical trans noise that I expect to hear on it. But nothing too major. You'll get some rotational noise with most V8 manual cars. As long as it shits without grinding, count your blessings and install a shifter.

1. Bama tunes are ok but I would recommend getting a custom tune.

2. my auto transmission in my EB seems rock solid, love it.

1) I don't hear a lot about Bama tunes on this forum, I don't believe they are popular.

2) The auto trans is a bulletproof workhorse that can take enormous horsepower and abuse. Some people have durability problems with the manual trans when they drag race but others say they have had no issues. Guess it's a crapshoot.

Yep made in China where the QC must not be very good or controlled. :(
