My factory clutch exploded broke twice when changing gears at high rpm’s
Upshifting, not downshifting
My guess is that the centrifugal forces did it when the pressure plate is away from the. Clutch disk
Factory clutch?
2 clutch exploded on me (17pp1) when changing gears at high rpm’s
Not saying that it’s your problem but they are very weak for track duty
Went to an aftermarket and never had a problem since then
Nobody mentioned/asked if the op turn the stability control off or not when on track
If not, the rear brakes are activated a lot, even when not braking, and the stock rear pads can easily exceed their optimum temperature range
Keep that in mind when choosing a rear pad
Yes and no
I’m sure that they have better metallurgical properties than my no name blank rotor but,as an example, if a Brembo cost $ 250 and i can do 10 track days with it but my blank cost $60 and i can do 8 days, for me they are a much better deal
So yes, you’re paying for the name
Btw, many...
I have a few cars but to keep it on track and on Mustang, i have a 17pp1 that is a track only car that run a squared set of 305 track tires
I use the cheapest blank rotors that i can get from rockauto and use XR1 Cobalt front race pads
Since i have been racing/tracking since 1993, I do believe...
I think that you fell prey to marketing and placebo effect
The only reason Shelby use them is because they look “cool”and are a 2 pieces design that save weight
There is a reason why racers never use cross drilled rotors on a track
As for stopping once from 130 mph, it’s child play compared to...
Holden is 100% right, ceramic pads are very low performance pads and will fade in any spirited or hard usage
Reason being their design temperature range that is between 200 to 700*
above that their coefficient of friction drop drastically
As a comparison, race pads are designed to work around...
Well, since you know that it’s only for look, get the cheapest ones you can get on RockAuto
…and btw,my 17pp1 on squared 305 is a track car only and i use the cheapest blanks that can get from rockauto
Never had a problem in 8 years
Well i was living in this piece of shit city and location as you do, maybe i would feel the same way !!!😂
I know that area pretty well since i used to race quite often at Willow Springs
