I've noticed the same thing, except mine happens in first and second. If I am cruising and then hit the gas with some severity it will lag a second and then build RPM like it is supposed to. I was assuming it was part of the tune to keep people from doing crazy shit at low RPMs.

I just wanted to add that my 18 is experiencing the same issue - grinding when shifting at RPMs at or above 5,000 as well as a slight problem idling upon startup every once in a while. I am right at 3,000 miles and don't find the problem getting better by wearing in. I will have the dealer...

Thanks. It was about three years ago now. Time moves on and the rest of my family is all good. It was never a good situation, but it could be worse.

After I test drive the new manual I will make my decision to order. I hated the clutch in my 13 and 15. If they smoothed it out and made it more linear I will gladly order another.

I did my with my 15, but it really wasn't the cars fault. My mom was killed in a traffic accident about the same time I bought the car and every time I got in the car it reminded me of the drive I had to make to the airport to fly home.
