No surprise that came from you but I give you my top three reasons to buy a CAI:

1. The sound, a NA engine sounds fantastic with a CAI, I will also add a X-pipe (resonator delete) and if that is not helping it will be a cat back system.

2. The looks, it looks great!

3. Because I can!

And in a year or two it will probably be time for a tune and the 85 mm insert is removable so I get 105 mm MAF bore and with the x-pipe I am hoping for close to 400 hp at the rear wheels.

Merry Christmas!

A good quality CAI will also offer benefits of increased fuel economy.

I have the Roush kit as well and will install when my car arrives in a couple of weeks.

Stock air box gives better performance if staying on stock tune. If you want more induction noise and improve throttle response, fit a dry panel filter.

If your gonna do a tune/remap then CAI will give benefits as you can tune for the larger MAF diameter and make power, though again real world gains are still minimal.

To get true performance gain with a CAI you also need to enlarge the throttle body and change the intake manifold, now your talking but your looking at $3000 so you might as well just not bother and get a supercharger kit from Roush/VMP for $6000. :)

Some difference in 300 USD and 6000 USD....
And the tune from Roush does not work on EU cars
And you have to cut and grind the Engine block to fit the supercharger
And you will woid the warranty

Please read my first thread again, I got this CAI because it looks great and it gives a great sound, and I belive it will improve performance too even if you don´t think so.
I know there is better ways to improve performance, why not a Hellion turbo kit?
And I will test my car on Dynomite dynomometer and see if it makes less or more power with the CAI and I will upload the graph on this forum, until then, have a nice time.:)

I would be interested if:
1) get better sound, AND
2) get same or LESS fuel consumption.

Actually I don't need more power, this car is already powerful enough for me! I need better sound, but I am not willing to trade it for higher fuel consumption :)

Gas here is like liquid gold!!

Just a small difference in my opinion:
Nordic is talking about the GT.
I don't know if CAI can make so difference for the humble 2.3 engine....

@papanist power is never enough ;) Based on my short experience from test drive, 2.3 lucks of "explosion" . I don't know the exact term. Too heavy car.

When you want to change the turbo to a bigger one, a good CAI will make a HUGE difference. Let's leave aside the awesome sound it does, pulling more air means more power. If you leave it in stock, well the increase is not that huge, regardless of engine, but if you're serious about tuning, then get a CAI.

The EB lacks explosion true, but with an exhaust, tune and IC, it can reach GT levels and then it will explode enough.
In the end it is a MUSCLE car, not a Lambo. You counter weight with power.

Nordic, I hope you'll enjoy the wooshing sound to the fullest.

Offtopic as a side note. I stop posting here my ideas, my mods and questions because a lot of people seem to have a stick up their ***, be it Americans or Europeans. If it's not concerning your car, why talk smack? If you have a better idea and have PROOF that I'm wrong, be my guest to post, otherwise congratulate or gtfo my thread.

I think all agree with that. It is common sense.

BUT papanist, myself and many others are wondering IF those mods CAI, catch can , IC etc have a real improvement in stock car.

Idk about catch can.
Except exhausts, imho, no parts have a real improvement in a stock car. It's like taking steroids, but not work out at all. It doesn't work without proper tune. And exhaust is for sound mostly.
I guess if you don't want to go out of stock engine at all, your best tunes are comfort and transmission tunes. You say the EB is a slouch, but you can't drive it 100% in track mode due to suspension issues.
