Stock pads at 140 MPH+?

Driving style, conditions, tires, brake fluid all play a role in if you'll get fade or not.

At the bare minimum I'd be putting good brake fluid in the car, Brembo LCF 600 or Motul 600.

We have taken our 2015 to VIR and NCCAR, we had brake fade at NCCAR. It's a small track with a hard braking zone. VIR was fine, but we also added our brake cooling kit inbetween.

Don't cheap out on brakes, it only takes once to be wrong to be in a world of hurt.

I plan on Motul 600, still have a bottle from last year to use. Also will install SS brake lines. The biggest thing I need to do is put in brake cooling ducts. Waiting to see if a new kit comes out that won't remove the fog lights, otherwise I will make my own.

I agree, you can't cheap out on brakes!!!

Has anyone tracked their car with the base package brakes, NOT the Brembos? How do they do on track?

I have an ecoboost base, and I should have got the PP.

The brakes are shit, worse than the s197 brakes for sure (can confirm, had one too. ;)

they fade and shimmy after a bit of hard braking on the freeway. they take some time to recover, due to the lower mass/ smaller rotor.

I want to track it, but will not with these brakes. I know that will be a recipe for disappointment/disaster!

Sorry, I was asking about the standard GT brakes. There are three different calipers on the 2015 Mustangs.

The V6 and Ecoboost have the sliding calipers like your car. The Ecoboost Performance Pack and the GT have the 4-piston calipers (not Brembo). The GT Performance Pack have the 6-piston Brembos.

OP, you need to go to The Ridge in Shelton, WA. A little further south than Pacific Raceways but it is not even comparable in terms of track design and safety. If you aren't familiar, the track is only about 5 years old and the family who owns it are constantly upgrading the facility, whereas Pacific Raceways has been falling apart. 2.4 miles and 16 turns. The grin factor in a car or on a motorcycle is worth the further drive.
