I am astounded....the ultimate queue jumper........makes a total mockery of the whole ordering system.....and some poor bugger like Ian, who ordered his in July 2014 is not looking at getting his until after our new number one jumper....I would be very surprised if a whole lot of people didn't just became very angry....good old Ford....." the masters of disappointment":doh:

wow.. i still dont get this though. Regardless of build date. How does your car get here 9th Jan when it was built AFTER a hell of a lot of other cars. My car was built a week after yours and is supposed to be here 2nd feb..

Hey Bobsp12, May 2015 isn't a typo but I think what sometimes happens is if somebody puts in a deposit very early on, the dealer might've actually forgotten about it.

When you order the car, it has to first go on the dealers personal system but they might not have necessarily submitted it to anyone. That is what happened to my order since I asked my dealer what the process was, so I had to make sure that the order was in the national system on the same day I ordered.

So, at the end it might not have been Ford USA's issue but rather when the dealer actually submitted it. If he submitted it late or forgot about it until later then hundreds of cars are put infront of you. Obviously the dealers will never admit to that.

In terms of my car being built early is because the people that build the ecoboost are seperate to the people building the GT's as that is how most production line systems work. Each person is given only one task. As you know the GT's are delayed due to supplier constraint issues. There are approximately 3440 GT models ordered while there are only 560 ecoboost models. If the production lines are seperate then it makes sense for everyone who ordered an ecoboost to get there car way earlier.

My car was around number 1500 to be ordered in which if broken down to the ecoboost stats then it is car number 100 - 150 as earlier on there was 90%+ GT's being ordered. My dealer had 49 orders in which 3 were ecoboost on the day I ordered.

Because Ford are holding lots of cars pointlessly at the docks, and shipping out some cars that have only been at the dock for a few days.

gz_1993....I am happy that you are getting your car and get the ecoboost low order number deal. The way a dealer puts in their orders though should not matter in the grand scheme of things, because they should have a date that the customer paid their deposit and be delivered in that order. We are well aware that that never happened. However there was a cutoff date of the end of March 15 for cars to be delivered by March 16. That clearly is not how yours has panned out.
Please dont take anything personally, as I said, I am happy you are getting your car as soon as possible...but it says a lot about how poorly Ford has performed with the mustang deliveries....that is both a combination of Ford Aus incompetence and Ford US poor parts supply process.
There are plenty of stories in the US threads of people waiting months for parts for their cars requiring crash repairs. Wait until we need parts here...it will be another nightmare.

I'm up for it - the guys in some of the US sub-forums seem to have a great time on their 6G cruises/meet ups (except for one notable incident in California).

I can see many new friendships being made as a result of being an S550 owner!
