My sub is very quiet, virtually no bass. Most songs even turning "bass" all the way up does nothing. On some songs turned all the way up it is a little noticeable. On my 05 GT the bass was very loud with the shaker sub on. I thought it might be off (you could turn it off on my 05 GT) but I can't find anything in the settings. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes and No. It's mostly fine on all audio sources, except Sirius. Because the stream is so compressed it is listenable but no real highs or lows.

But, it could be a little more "bassy" and I wouldn't complain. Luckily it came in a package with other things, because otherwise it's not worth the price.

Yeah, just surprised it is a downgrade from the shaker in my 05.

Agreed - I had the shaker in my '09 GT and it honestly had more bass. I will say my '15 is CRISPER and more clear, but the bass isn't as strong. I like a balanced song, but when I am listening to music when it's supposed to thump I would have hoped it would thump a bit more.

I really wish they'd dump the "Shaker" name and instead go with a "name brand." My wifes Explorer has the top of the line Sony system and it it pretty amazing. Crisp, clear - nice highs AND lows.

The best factory system I have heard in any vehicle is the Alpine system in the new Ram trucks. I really wish Ford would do something along those lines. Even for their top of the line system they chose the worst of the aftermarket car audio brands. Sony makes great electronics, but their car audio equipment is just garbage for the most part. It's a Walmart brand of the car audio world.

I probably wouldn't go that far, but the point is it is leaps and bound better than even what we get as top of the line in the Mustang. Our Mustang isn't "horrible" per se, but it definitely is weak when compared elsewhere, even within the Ford line.

I agree that they should drop the shaker name. The Sony system in my explorer is way better. And my grandcherokee's Harmon Kardon is purely amazing. I don't know what holding ford back, but they need to step it up

Does it make a huge difference? Could I put an aftermarket sub in the stock enclosure?

Putting an aftermarket in the stock enclosure wouldn't improve it. It might even make it worse. The amplifier is tiny.
