Facebook pm from FoMoCo social media team just in re my query as to when our Mustangs will get to dealerships.

Hi Greg. The Mustangs that rolled off the Parsifal last week, with all the attention on these first units we are currently going through a vehicle by vehicle pre delivery process to ensure customer vehicle satisfaction. Our plan is to commence shipments to Dealerships as soon as we have finalised each vehicles pre delivery and will be able to release more information on delivery to our dealership in the coming days. Stay tuned for an update. FordService^CZ

To which I replied ...

If Ford is completing PD before delivery to dealerships please assure me that you won't be attaching that hideous black license plate bracket on my GT, either back or front bumper !!!

If they put that shit on my front bumper there will be a very loud discussion with Ford about replacing my front bumper. Hope they aren't putting that plate mounting on our cars, but if they are doing PD before they get sent to the dealership it could happen.

Just when I could see light at the end of the tunnel .... Ford build more tunnel <sigh>

Well said Greg. I'll be demanding the same, or at least an invisible fix.

If your car is already at the dock, I would foresee it arriving a lot sooner than mid February.

I suspect that you'll have the keys by then.
Mines been at the dock for over a month and the latest ETA is the 13th February. I really hope you have better luck than me.
Ian.

There seem to be different sized number plate attachments getting around, probably dictated by the destination country.

Here is one fitted to a UK vehicle:

...which is clearly slimmer and longer than the (NZ) one posted by Greg above.

The UK and NZ both have larger standard number plates than us, so hopefully we might get a 'slimline' version.

Like most other things here, who fucking knows!

The plate on this Australian press car probably gives us a clue as to what Ford are giving us here.

lots of Fords
I've always wanted to turn up to a gf's house with a previously un-announced car.

If the mustang ever turns up, hopefully i'll be able to casually drop by her house in the new ride in the new year :headbang:
You will have to crawl past her nursing home by the time you get the car....

....which look to be the same as the one on that NZ car.

None of the third party options I have seen so far appeal to me at all.

I also don't like the idea of bending the plate to to the contour of the bar and screwing it in/attaching it with double sided tape.

I would get one of those sticker plates made up, but the HWP over here would nail you in an instant.

I agree re bending the plate mate.

I've gone with the Sto-N-Sho in the absence of anything else that appeals to me. At least if I want to change it later I just undo 3 screws and it looks like it never happened. This image shows what it will look like.

But at this rate as one of the SA guys suggested we won't be seeing any cars until after Christmas.

This Billboard is smaller and less un-attractive than the plate mount...

Worrying that there are still no reports of deliveries apart from the 3AW guys one... That one seemed very much Ford/3AW PR driven too...

I spoke to my dealer this morning. Despite my car coming into Brisbane yesterday the Ford system is saying 25 December for my delivery date... Clearly the car won't be delivered on that date so they are trying to get an understanding from Ford on whats behind that date and how accurate it is.

My dealers understanding is that Ford is doing an extensive QA process
on all cars and this is what is causing the delay between the car arriving in Aus and the car getting to the dealer.

Hopefully someone on here will get a car delivered soon!

I reckon the real reason for the QA thing is that Ford US got the Ecoboost motor mixed up with the GT motor. Don't quote me on this. Just a thought

I just had an interesting thought, Greg. With Ford Au announcing that they are carrying out pre-deliveries on all cars before they are released to the dealers brings up an interesting point. I know with my dealer I am paying out $1813 for the pre-delivery. With the pre-delivery having already been done by Ford Au, that only leaves the detailing of the car and that is definitely not worth $1813. Something we should all seriously think about.
Ian.

Well spotted Ian. !! Oh and did I mention that Ford Au will let dealers know this week the "release date" for their customers Mustangs. I suspect this means they will hold all Australian releases up until the same day (Unless you work for 3AW)

This crap is really starting to wear thin. :paddle:

They obviously want all of this current shipment to be released at the same time so that it has the most impact with the public.
