Bringing out a firearm in CA is not a very smart thing to do. CA law has the castle doctrine but that doesn't include property outside. Bringing a loaded firearm out in public is against the law. Handguns require a carry permit and long arms have to be unloaded in counties with more than 200k residents, which SD has. If you had used it, you would have probably found yourself in a whole heap of trouble.

To the OP, that really sucks. It makes me angry just reading about it. Some people just have no respect for what other people earn.
Thank God I live in the south

Very sorry to hear about this. I had a 1990 GT stolen from directly in front of a movie theater. I loved that car. To this day I hope the bastard wrapped it around a telephone pole. It was never found. At least I don't have to look at it. I feel your pain man.

honestly there are devices that can lock/unlock cars, garage doors, and basically any electronic lock. It seems slow to catch on now but soon enough I guarantee thieves will be hitting cars this way. I really hope Ford is working on security measures for current owners

I hate bringing my vehicles to movies every time. It's a guaranteed ~2 hours that you'll be away from it.

There's two things you don't mess with in life, a mans car and a mans woman.

@krahooligan - How is the car coming along? -- it took them 9 weeks to fix mine!

Yeah, you're right on that for sure. I honestly can't tell you how many times I've heard an alarm go off and I'm just like "someone probably hit the button by accident or something" and I never look out of the window. I'm sure there are a significant number of people who are this way.

Just make your alarm sound like one gunshot haha. Haha :D

if the alarm is a 2 way pager then it definitely serves a purpose. The noise is just an added bonus to hopefully spook the thief

Didn't have my car one week and had the dealer install the Security pkg...
Can they do it just like factory?
Works with factory remote ok?

I've worked with violent criminals including sexual assault and murderers and car vandalism and or theft still makes me boiling mad.
