Thank God I live in the southBringing out a firearm in CA is not a very smart thing to do. CA law has the castle doctrine but that doesn't include property outside. Bringing a loaded firearm out in public is against the law. Handguns require a carry permit and long arms have to be unloaded in counties with more than 200k residents, which SD has. If you had used it, you would have probably found yourself in a whole heap of trouble.
To the OP, that really sucks. It makes me angry just reading about it. Some people just have no respect for what other people earn.
