I hate to start a new thread on this, but the old future performance car thread got moved somewhere.

Anyway, I've got a buddy that works at Ford and has become friends with some SVT guys (now FP guys I guess). He said he has been talking to them a while and may get the chance to work on an M1 build of the next Ford Performance Mustang scheduled for next October. They told him its going to be called the Mustang Evo, which may be a code name or may have just been heard wrong, who knows. Point is, its got to be taken with a grain of salt since he isn't really one of the FP engineers, but still may be a good hint that the next performance model is right around the corner.

You really should not be posting this if its true. They could be telling bs just to your buddy tonsee if he will leak it or not.

They will always be working on the next mustang. They don't stop. It's all rumors and speculation until there is a real leak or official announcement.

Well of course it's a rumor or speculation. Just thought it was interesting. I'm not to worried about it. He didn't seem to be.

I guess M1 is like a prototype build.

Its a early prototype build essentially (M1 is code for that level. Can't remember the actual list/order of builds but I think there's 4 or 5 more levels after the M1)

I care about infotainment
I can't wait to see what Ford does to respond to the new Camaro.

He must of misheard. It's probably "Mustang EV". As in Electric Vehicle. Ford needs a competitor for the Chevy Volt.
