Thanks for all the advice! My car is expected to arrive much sooner than expected so I'll be picking up my 'Stang with zero stick experience.

I've never touched a manual in my life until my GT, but as long as you understand the concept of how it works you will be fine. I walked onto the lot and spent about 15 minutes driving my GT from the overflow lot to the rear of the dealership where I later bought the car. Stalled it about 20-30 times before I got off the lot, got in traffic and it started raining hard. learned real quick.
Good Job you liked the manual then, would have been stuffed if you did not.
I mean stupid question I know, but why did you not go for a test drive in the manual? I did as have had Autos for years, but hated it, to used to an auto now. and with the paddle shifters it's even more like an manual

First off, good for you for going ordering the manual transmission! We need to keep the 6 speeds from going extinct. Rowing through the gears is just awesome and a whole lot of fun!

Don't stress it too much. I learned on my 'stang and learned fairly quickly. Watch a bunch of YouTube videos and read the online guides -- you'll be fine.

My then 16 daughter learned the basics in just an hour or so, while learning to drive at the same time. Find someone that can drive a stick and find a big empty parking to practice in.

You won't need more than 20 minutes to get the hang of it. It's a little like riding a bike; As soon as you get the feel you're off to the figurative races.

because racecar.

kidding, but I wanted something (car) different in my life. even if I had to make mistakes, learn from them, and spend money to do it. I really wanted the PP which only came in manual I think?

when you come from a civic to a sports car, you just do pretty much anything to get out of that situation.

the overflow lot to the main dealer is a freeway exit and uturn away, so I guess technically I did test drive it. only got up to about 50mph though
