Hello All,

Have a question for all LE owners. I have the opportunity to buy a new (12 Miles) Kona Blue LE at $500 under sticker. The car was driven off the truck and onto the showroom and hasn't moved since. Needless to say the car is pristine. They originally had a 10K ADM which didn't fly but they are hardly budging off of the sticker either. I currently have a deposit on the car so it is mine if I want it.

My question is for those who own this awesome car are the majority of the people putting miles on the car or are they putting it away in the garage as a future investment. I fully understand that most limited edition cars never really become as valuable or as collectible as a lot of people think and they are certainly not rare like a a lot of people seem to think as well although most dealers like to tell you that they are rare when trying to sell them. If I buy the car I'm torn between driving the wheels off of it or putting it away because it only has 12 miles. It is number 220/1964. I know the lower number matters to some but not all.

I would love to hear peoples opinion on this.

Thanks!!

I have one and I am driving it. I don't abuse it. I don't think I will ever get rid of it. Everything I have done to it can be undone. Enjoy it!

Take it for the $500 under. Drive it and enjoy it. You will not regret ever having not driven it. You'll get complimented on it where ever you go with it. I put the Magna Flow cat back and JLT CAI on mine and love it.

Buy it and drive it. These cars aren't going to appreciate like the Mustang's of the 60's. Enjoy the car. It is meant to be driven.

If you truly want it, I'd demand invoice. You have all the power, because they had it sitting for at least half a year collecting dust and having people touch it and whatnot. There's another member here that got his for invoice.

Also, if it's auto, then down the line it's going to appreciate because Ford ain't budging about having the performance package in an auto.

Thanks to all that have replied. It's a tough decision to make but I am glad that so many people are getting enjoyment out of the LE. It's definitely a great car and I love the Kona Blue but spending close to 50K now makes me think about possibly waiting for a used GT350 at some point in the future. Either way I think it's a win win.

Thanks!!

I had plans to not drive mine much, but I love the car so much that I've already put 4000 miles on it. For those, like me, that wanted auto with performance pack, the LE was the only way to go. The uniqueness of the car is a nice addition. A used GT350 might be a consideration for some, but not for me because I like the creature comforts. E.G..I've been using the seat cooling function this summer a lot more than I thought I'd be!

Buy it...put stripes on it and enjoy it!! They will never be a collector car! A nice car, yes...but not a valuable car!

I read the forums all the time but seldom contribute. Couldn't resist. Bought my Kona blue auto #0894 in January from a local dealer. Paid a little over invoice and wasn't upset because at the time rumors were flying around that dealers were getting 10k ADM. Didn't care because it was exactly what I wanted. The color, auto, and PP. I never cared about collector stuff. I'm in my 60's and won't be around for the 100 year anniversary. I was reluctant to make any significant mods at first but changed my mind.

I've got 13k miles now. I eliminated the resonator, put in an X pipe with Magnaflow street exhaust. Sounds awesome. Then Vossen VFS1 polished silver wheels and Toro tires. I think the silver looks great with dark colors. lastly I installed the custom illuminated sill plates.

Just a few cosmetic mods and I have all the original parts.

I've never liked a car more. Fantastic ride. I say get the car. You will not regret it. No issues whatsoever. Still get excited every time I drive it!

Buy it. Drive it. Dont make any modifications to it. If you want to make modifications - dont buy the LE. Keep it real.

White auto here. I would accept 500 under sticker but shoot for less for sure. I paid msrp during height of adm. 10k miles now daily driver. Mod it and have fun. It'll always be worth a slight margin over gt but it'll be years before it's worth any appreciable money.
