As it looks like we are getting the horrible clear lens without the sequential turn I wondered if its possible to bring them back to US spec? At least the red look - maybe a light spay of red that the amber LED will overpower.....

I'm going to try a light red tint - it works to darken it so maybe it will work, Or by the time we get our cars (if I survive that long) there will be a red kit

To modify sequential turn light you need to buy sequential light adaptor which is not roadworthy

That above post is filled with misinformation

1. Don't worry about buying the US tail lights as the connectors are different to the EU spec and at this stage we currently don't know how to modify them. Also sequential turn signals and a red indicator light generally aren't allowed in Australia.

2. You can buy a red tint, also most vinyl wrap shops should be able to do this for you.

There is a member in Poland who states that he knows how to modify the tail lights so just wait there should be options for us in the future.

1. Us taillight work with eu spec mustang

2 . You can buy red tint but there is no pre cut one like the one on eBay yet so you have to ask the shop if they can cut them for you

3. Why wait for Poland when Chinese already make eu spec seq tail light adaptor available 4 months ago ? ( this person also unlocked remote engine start feature for Eu spec he told me he will put them on eBay soon it's currently available on taobao.com if you guys know how to read Chinese here is the link http://m.intl.taobao.com/detail/detail.html?spm=a1z5f.7632060.0.0&id=520367169463

Good luck with your purchase on taobao, that website is filled with more fake products and scams than anything.

The picture of the mustang is a US spec mustang not of an EU mustang with red tail lights, the give away is the 50th anniversary faux gaslid badge

ok the sequential tail lights have a lighting control module FR3Z-13C788-B which grabs the plug they plug into the Euro spec tail lights and does some electronic trickery to output the signals to the wiring harness on the USDM lights.

if you want to do the conversion it is a matter of buying the USDM parts

FR3Z-13C788-B - control module with groups. - $52.90
FR3Z-13412-A - wiring harness - $25.62
FR3Z-13404-A - RHS tail light assembly - $610.20
FR3Z-13405-A - LHS tail light assembly - $610.20

please keep in mind this is information from flint Rock plant, i have conveniently made facebook friends with someone who works there and they compared some of the parts between the specs. and those prices are USD.

the remote start system is installed in all of our cars, it just seems like it is disabled in the software and we dont get the fob to do it. if you programmed a fob from the states to ours and swapped the transmitter to work on our freq it would work if enabled in the software... so yeah i dont think thats worth the hassle.

i do believe i read in another post you liked the chrome and stuff so if you are thinking of getting parts you can get the tail light assembly's with chrome strips

FR3Z-13404-B RHS tail light assembly with chrome strip

FR3Z-13405-B LHS Tail light assembly with chrome strip

sequential turn signals is not allowed in Australia but remote start is legal in Australia but not in some eu country .. ford try to make all export car with same feature ( eu spec gets seats option ) to keep the cost down .

Does anyone know what Mustang Motorsport has done with the tail lights on the converted and registered car ? Are they still red ? Everything I have been able to find on the internet shows 3 red tail lights. Were they allowed to keep sequential lights as I have noticed some early model left hand drives here in SA are using brake lights as indicators.

i believe they are still red, they changed it so that the outside bar flashes amber by using a green bulb in there, like what most of the euro's do. but do not rely on what mustang motorsport are doing as stated it is a private import, there are different rules for private imports and aus compiled vehicles. exactly the reason they wont be able to import any more once production of an aus compiled car is done.

I saw a roush mustang convert by mustang Motorsport at a ford dealer ,For ADR reason they had to deleted the seq function and fit separate LED indicators in the rear bar.
One staff member said they are working on a Mod for the US tail lights and fitting the outer most bar with a Amber LED section. with the 2 inner bars of light staying red.
And hoping to supply this mod in the future if people want the red US lights over the clear euros.
