S550 transmission problem or not??

What's up everyone,new here and my first question is has anyone had any noise with there transmission?I have a thud/clunk that sounds like it's coming from the drive shaft to the rear,very noticeable when engaging in 1st gear and shifting through gears?

Hmm,,it's strange,,there was even something on Edmunds.Com review about the noise as well..well,,time to call the dealer,,figured I wait a couple thousand miles first though..several people have said you will hear all types of noises with a brand new car,,make sense to any one lol??:ford::ford::cheers:

Noiseless/worryless shifting is an option (includes extra power handling ability). Check the A6 box.

I've had a 91 lx,92 gt and 04 gt,,never any banging except the 92 drive shaft was loose..f it,,full warranty..

Ford will tell you that its "normal" and that "these transmissions have heavy-duty parts, which are more likely to make noise". But this issue has been discussed at length, and there's a 30+ page thread about it in the Drivetrain section.

its due to the performance package per ford and they will not do anything for you... normal means design flaw is ok. Do you part and report it or ford will never do anything if no one is complaining. 40k car SHOULD NOT rattle like that... embarrassing...
