Hey NewMustangDE, first of all thank you so much Vielen, VIELEN dank for all the photos and write-up of your car.

I read the whole thread and it's very possible I may have missed it but have you been able to reach top speed on this yet? I'm looking at purchasing a 2016 GT next year and I have a lot of opportunity where I am to really test the performance of this machine. I'm just nervous about how it handles at high speeds IE Autobahn.

Any information would be great!

Thanks for the kind words.

Yes, i have tested it. 270 km/h. Got up to that kind of speed very quickly (got to 270 faster than my 2014 A6 BiTdi 313PS). Stable yes but not as stable as the A6, probably due to the weight.

Does the bonnet move a lot at autobahn speeds?

It does have it. EU law.... this is the reason why the bonnet "flutters" when driving at high speed.
Shouldn't explain why it "flutters" tbh. My Volvo V40 even has a bonnet airbag that goes over the A pillars, Volvo has included an extra hook on the window side of the bonnet that hooks it securely preventing it from moving.

In Custom Pack the passenger's glove box is also "dressed" with soft material like upper doors/dash, or it is still hard plastic which is very sensitive to scratches?
Glove box lid is made of hard plastic. No softiniess at all on that! Good news is that its quite large and has a seperate compartment for the instructions/papers.

270 Km/h is very quick. Here in the Eifel there are lots of stretches of Autobahn where I would dream of just putting the pedal down to the floor and letting that V8 just open up. Currently my Saab has a maximum of maybe 230 km/h.

Does it sort of float around the road at all in your mind? I feel very much in control at top speed or anything above 210 km/h.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions!

Around Cologne we have a few nice stretches where you can let your car "breath" a bit....A1 to Euskirchen, A4 to Aachen, A555 to Bonn (first Autobahn in Germany, built by you know who).

Yes, I find that the GT does "float" a little at high speed. But I am sure one gets used to it the more one drives it.

That's insane speeds  Any car, other than a couple of super/hyper cars, would probably be 'light' at 270kph.

I would have fainted before the car got light

I don't feel like I'm driving unless I'm cruising about 210 km/h and even then I get passed like I'm standing still from Audi A7's or Mercedes anything.

I love living over here :D

I have to say that i am truly impressed by the acceleration and handling of the GT. It goes like a train when you want it and can make roundabouts straight....the acceleration is truly something

Not only does it put a smile on my face everytime, it also surprises me. Every time!

What about suspension? Is it adaptive? How do you feel it in low/high speeds?
Any adjustments?
