If Drag Racing was my priority, I would go back to the S197. It looks better, has a huge aftermarket and the solid axle just can't be beat.Those new Camaros should run pretty good IMO, I'd expect some mid 12s@1/4 at 113++
Uuuuuugly though, and can't express that enough, UGLY
The S197 will go down in history as the last great drag car... but I have a feeling it will be around longer than the Fox was (and still is).
We still don't know the full extent of an additional shift in the 1/4 by the 2016 Camaro. The previous Camaro could trap in 3rd, the new car will require you to shift into 4th.
There could be a trap dilemma like the 2011 GT's had. Either ride out the quarter and maybe redline 4th OR, be an idiot and shift into 5th about 100-200 feet from the trap. I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I'd want to shift automatically because it's so ingrained into me. The engine sound makes me wanna shift...
