Water and a micro towel. I've never had any luck with wheel cleaners, never work as advertised. I remove wheel and clean inner part about once a month and wax every other month.

Consumer grade cleaners are poor choices. I swear by Sonax which you can't get at the corner automotive store - it does work like advertised - even better. I had terrible brake dust with my Focus ST - Sonax was the only thing that could clean it. If you order from Autogeek, get their Speed Master Wheel Brush - it makes getting in the spokes and the backside of the rim so much easier.

So I'm not the only one that does this:D A freshly waxed wheel makes brake dust removal as simple as spraying with a pressure washer then I follow with a detail spray between waxings.

Sonax and a Daytona wheel brush Are awesome. I've had some pretty nasty wheels on track cars in the past and Sonax has always made clean up a breeze.

What are you waxing your wheels with?
For my wheels I use:
Chemical Guys WAC_118_16 - JetSeal Sealant and Paint Protectant once per year then follow it with some Meguiars wax but any wax will help.

With most wheels these days being clear coated you have to treat them as you would with the paint on your car. I save my good wax for the body paint though.

Nope. I do it as well. I clean my wheels when I swap out from track to autocross and wax at the same time.
I use just soap and water on mine, or some Simple Green if they are really bad.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Never did anything but wash them.

I just use the same soap that I wash the car with (Meguires at this point). I wash at least twice a week so they're easy to keep clean.

This is the best soap I've found in the 40+ years I've been washing cars. Works great with a foam cannon too.

How is this better than gold class? Just curious
The shampoo plus feels a bit more slippery ( better lubrication) than the gold class, makes lots of suds that last but rinse off easily. It's a mild cleaning soap so easier on the wax and I like how it smells. I buy a gallon at a time from Amazon so its pretty cheap.

Thanks! I'll do the same. I had wondered about it for a while now

Had ceramic pro put on the wheels along with the rest of the car. All I do is use chemical guys quick detailer spray and micro fiber towel between washes.
