As far as these drives being painful to watch? they are not pro drives and do not think they ever claim to be...they are journalist, so of course they are intimidated. Also Im sure they do not ant to be the first to wreck the car...so they drove on the side of caution. More than I can say for what they did off of the track i.e. streets video...

I'm with everyone else here; I want to see this car driven by someone who knows how to drive!

The hype machine is in full effect here. And this video was like getting your hopes up for the smoking hottie who left out the bathroom window at closing time and you're left going home with the troll left at the bar with 3 teeth and bad gas.

... not that I would know anything about that.
I actually want to see someone like the rest of us drive the GT350R, I want to hear what they have to say, how they drive it, their reaction, etc... Randy Pobst is great, but none of us ever will approach 20% of what he can do. I want to see the everyday guy and hearing what he thinks because lets all be honest, everyone think they are Randy Pobst behind the keyboard, but we are not.

These guys are no more journalists than you are Queen Elizabeth. A legitimate automotive journalist would have some training on a racetrack, would know how to shift and wouldn't talk about things like the "corkscrew hairpin" at Laguna Seca.

How do you think the guys from Car and Driver, MT, AutoWeek, MotorWeek, Times, Chris Harris, etc...how do you think they test cars?
Not at speeds approaching 100 on a busy two-lane highway ...

This fella is an IDIOT. Wholly crap. It is like its the first time he has been alone with a car. Is he still sporting a permit?

Awful...
I can do much better too, on the Xbox One, but in real life, probably do the same thing. Everyone is Michael Schumacher behind their keyboard, but hand them the key to a new GT350R, on a track you are not familiar with, surrounded by big wigs from Ford telling you not to fuck it up, and everyone is watching you, and your day job is to write, not drive for a living, and I think you probably do the same thing.

Do you have the onboard data showing they did "100"? Try searching on YouTube, there are videos of journalist from MT, CD, even Jay Leno getting pulled over from the police testing cars. And don't act like you never pushed the pedal on a public road.

You got journalist from CNET, Engadget, Times, even Newsweek testing cars all the time. Since the GT350R is loaded with technology, from the Magna Suspension to the Flat V8, you will find more and more journalists from tech sites testing the cars. Personally, I want to see and hear what they have to say, because what Randy Posbt have to say, I will never have the skills to do it.

Everyone is waiting for first real world GT350/350R videos and reviews, and now they are slowly rolling in and all some people can focused on is some everyday Joe either "not pushing" the car or "driving like an idiot" on the highway. No one noticed the high reving engine note? easy shifting, high pitch at 8000rpm+, how stable and planted the front end is when he dropped the hammer.

If those guys are media/car guys in any form Ford should do a better job on who gets credentials. The passing over the hill was enough for them to never drive a media car on a public road again. If your going to put media in a car such as a GT350 on a course like LS get the responsible experienced people behind the wheel.

He talked about going past 6,000 in 3rd gear. What does that translate to? And whatever I've done or not done isn't the issue here - obviously inexperienced drivers doing stupid things on public roads and then posting a video about it is the issue.

suggestion: if you want to be taken seriously as a reviewer (on track, no on the street), post your 'bona-fides' along with your comments. If you're a gamer-only, say it...a guy who takes his car to the track but has never been to a school, say that...someone who's had ' a coach / instructor' at an HPDE event, say that (I only put that in quotes because I've seen some really under-prepared / experienced folks been passed off as 'instructors'). Full-fledged racer? say that.
