Agree. It's like walking into a movie theater with one person in it, and sitting right next to him!
Well, if that ever happens to you...Whatever you do, Don't have any of his popcorn if he offers it to you........ DON'T reach in the bucket!

Exactly!

I'd like to see someone do that to all these guys here who disagree it's an a-hole thing to do when you park far away and someone parks right next to you.

or if your with your gf/wife sitting in the back corners alone away from people, then some guy comes and sits right next to you guys:lol:

I would bet big money it would annoy every one of you:cheers:

yep, shopping and errand duty is for the wife's leased nissan.
Same here.
I take the truck if I need to go out and park it, which I do, at the far end of parking lots in an end spot. I never leave the Roush parked unattended.

Well guess what ... I'll never get over some dickweed parking right next to me when I'm way out by myself and he's got literally dozens of other spaces to park in. Granted, if it's another nice sports car then I don't think too much about it, but if it's some piece of shit then it's pretty obvious the idiot isn't doing it to "protect his car", or mine. They are doing it to screw with people. And frankly, I don't like people who screw with me, and that includes getting personal on a chat board.
So if someone parks next to you they are a dickweed. But if it's another nice sports car, then all's good. Still having trouble connecting the dots on how this works with the urinal analogy.

As said earlier, people need to just leave other people alone. Parking out far away from others is doing zero harm or infringing on absolutely nobody - how the hell it is "bothering someone" except in their twisted head.
Funny, this is exactly what I've been saying. Parking next to someone does zero harm and infringes on nobody - and those who think it does are twisted in their head.

Taking 2 parking spaces, even out in no-man's land, is going to attract even more the idiots who want to mess with someone's car. I never take 2 spaces no matter what.
:amen: I have to agree with this.... and frankly it pisses me off to see people do this. I am as big a fan as any when it comes to cars and motorcyles and strive to keep my vehicles pristine but would never consider taking up two spaces to park my wheels. It is inconsiderate to others and people have no right to do this regardless of what they drive. I have to say if anyone does this and gets keyed or their car gets vandalized.... they deserve it because they are asking for it. There are enuff jerks out here that will damage your car just because. Its not very smart to give them a real reason to screw up your car. Just my .02 cents on the topic.

I live on the edge and don’t care. I too park out in the no mans land. I have taken two spaces but I figure if the closet car is at least a three minute walk, then someone is just being an asshole if they park next to me. There isn’t a bigger asshole in the world then me when I'm provoked. Screwing with my 45k car is provoking, me.

Please if you are the politically correct, peace love and hippy liberal type keep your opinion to yourself, because I don’t care what you have to say…

If it is POS car, then they are totally being an asshole provoking me. I have had another mustang parked next to mine a few times. One was another 2015, the other two were 2012s. I have no issues with them. also they were not parked right on top of me either. I take those people as enthusiast trying to keep their car's safe as I was. An asshole provoking me, at a barebones minimum, I'm going to hip check the driver's door. That will usually give them a nice driver's door collapsed in. if the parking lot is really clear and I don’t see camera around, I'll drop my keys next to the driver's side and take out my Emerson karambit and go into the tire, giving them I nice flat. If there are a few cameras out and about, I'll take my karambit, as I walk by the car, I'll lay into his paint…

Flame on!!!

Yes, if it's obvious that when they parked right next to someone who is all alone way out and they have a POS car, then they are a dickweed that is screwing with people. But if the car is obviously another nice car then it might be interpreted as another enthusiast that cares about his car also. Everyone but you seems to see it that way. Are you really that numb or just trying to stir up shit and looking for confrontation in this thread?

If you don't understand the urinal and movie theater analogies, then you'll never get it, ever. Maybe you go sit in the stall instead of pissing in a urinal, or you never go to movies.

This is how complex of a "connect the dots" it is: :p

LoL ... not quite the message, but I hope someone doesn't piss on me from the next stall.

No, it's about respecting people's space, and property. It's something people usually do out of courtesy and respect. It should be no different when parking cars, or anything else where society interacts with each other.

That pic was good. I got a chuckle with that one. As for my intent, I am simply pointing out a different perspective that many people share. Were I the only one, this wouldn't be a topic for discussion.

I go back to the pissing analogy because it doesn't quite fit the situation. The theater and the urinal work well together because they are about personal space and a semblance of privacy, but they miss the point on the parking lot. We park away from others so that we don't get unwanted dings to our car. We're doing the only thing in our power to protect our asset in the nightmare known as public parking. When we say the guy in a fancy sports car who parks next to us doesn't annoy us, but the same guy who takes the urinal next to us does - the analogy doesn't fit. Just as it doesn't fit when we say someone who parks next to us is purposely trying to piss us off. I know of very few people who pee next to someone with the intent of being a jealous prick. That's what I'm saying with the dots not connecting.

It's pretty simple ... it's about respecting somebody's space, and in the situation of parking cars, that space is what someone is trying to use to protect their nice car that they care about.

Regardless if it's a parking space where somebody obviously doesn't want somebody else parking a car right next to theirs, or somebody taking a piss in a row of 10 urinals and some weirdo picks a urinal right next to him. Or an empty theater and someone comes and sits right next to you when there are 10 empty seats on either side of you.

It's about the simplest "connect the dots" there is ... are you so far out there in 4 sigma land with respect to reality that you can't see how people usually do, or should, behave in society?

You said: "When we say the guy in a fancy sports car who parks next to us doesn't annoy us, but the same guy who takes the urinal next to us does - the analogy doesn't fit."

It's pretty obvious to most here that if you found another nice sports car next to yours out in no-man's land vs. some piece of shit beat up car or SUV you would have a better feeling that the other guy was there to respect your car and not do anything to damage it. Can't say the same thing about the POS car sitting there instead.

So Mr MagneticA ... you have nothing to comment on Post #217, but instead you'd rather focus on trying to connect the dots on urinal etiquette? Hummm ... you should know what it is about, unless you are strictly a stall user. It's not rocket science to make a straight line between two dots of the analogies being used. :tsk:

Next time you go take a piss in a large restroom and there are many urinals and only one guy using them, go use the urinal right next to the only guy in there and watch his face. Or go park your beater car right next to a nice sports car out in no-mans land and sit there with your driver's side window down until the owner comes back and watch his face and body language. I guarantee you they will be noticing you and wondering WTF you are all about.

I would assume a nice car would respect my nice car. But I wouldn't assume that a car of lesser value would disrespect my nice car. And before this thread, I wouldn't have assumed that an owner of a nice car would disrespect a lesser valued car based on an assumption. I have connected many dots here, thank you.

As you can see, some here could be very provoked by someone they perceive as messing with them by parking next to them way out in no-man's land. And maybe they were being messed with - most likely so. That's why even IF I parked my new Mustang right next to another nice sports car when there were many other open spaces out there, I'd be leery the guy still might perceive me as someone who's messing with him. I'd simply park one or two spaces over - why crowd the guy out there? People these days don't seem to have much forethought on how others might perceive their actions in society.

But for the record I would never vandalize someone else's car just because it was parked next to mine. However, if I did see evidence of door dings or any other damage I would certainly be waiting around for the owner to return and confront them about it.

I worry more about kids than anything. I had my 2011 F150 a week old and went to lunch and came out and had a 1 foot long scratch down the side. Just this past january I had the new 2015 navigator at the movies and someone took something to it from the middle of the front door all the way through the back doors and a foot into the rear quarter panel. I took the new 2015 stang to movies tonight with the wife and parked way out close to another 2015 away from everyone and just prayed it was cool when i got back (it was thankfully)

What is a nice car?

I know folks that have suv's, mini vans etc. that are 40k + cars and they take very good care of them, to the extremes that folks do here on their mustangs.

My wife has a Black Venza, obviously folks think it is a POS because that car gets more dings in the supermarket than a hail storm. But it's a 40k car that we take very good care of...I hate black...anyway I have seen folks with expensive cars ding other folks doors and not give a second look, I'm sure everyone here has.

I can normally tell who to park next to just by looking at the car and their job parking.

Hard to tell about people these days, that's why I'll keep my Tundra for shit store runs. Don't even know how some of the dings appear on that truck..lol...I fix the dings and dents and move on...
