Offer now- 36,730 + TTL (includes all Ford rebates), or we can go to $37,230 + TTL (includes $1000 rebate & 0% APR for 72mos

Thanks for any insight. Found the same set up in Ruby Red as well, for 37869 (after rebate), and before TTL as well.

$38,263 is invoice for that car. $38,349 is xplan price. (Both of these include Destination/Delivery and Advertising which you will pay regardless - $900 and $600)
Dealer holdback is ~3% which makes it $37,212 before they start losing money.
You should push them towards $37,000 before rebates and still get the 0% for 72 months as well as the $1000 rebate and $750 customer cash coupon. Then add tax and title (depends on your location and isn't part of negotiations).

Your invoice should look like:
Car: $37,000
Rebate: -$1000
Coupon: -$750
Tax: (at 6.25% state): $2200
Title: about $100 if transferring
TOTAL: $37,550 Out the door.

It's a common misconception that dealers will use on customers that rebates drop them below what they paid for the car. This is not true... Ford will reimburse the dealer for the rebates. The money is coming from Ford Motor Company, not Bill and Bob's Ford Dealership.

How much $$$ in rebates did you get? As many have stated before, find out the invoice price of your spec'd out car, you should definitely be able to do better than invoice, especially on a 2015. If you think you did okay, that's all that matters! Sign the papers and enjoy it!
I have to wait until Oct. for mine. :headbonk:

Thanks, that is the invoice I came up with as well. Made one request to adjust price, and was met with the "I'm at invoice on a car I can sell for more". There is another dealer with a ruby red that might be willing to deal. Will see.

It depends a lot on the area that you are purchasing from. For example, a lot of the dealerships here in Central Florida are ok with sitting on a car for a month or two because they know they will be able to sell it in October or November. Might be a different story up north where Mustang sales slow down during the winter, so dealers want to move the cars off of their inventory to make room for trucks and SUVs.

If you're looking to get the best deals, try to look north of you or in more rural areas. I wen't to google maps and zoomed out to see a whole state, then typed in "ford dealership" and started clicking to see zip codes. Then while using the extended inventory tool on the ford website, type in those zip codes while searching for a car you want to see what's available. Like the Koons dealership in Baltimore, it may be worth the $400 plane ticket and the 12hr/$200gas to fly up to buy and then drive back, if you're savings upwards of $2000.

I'm just outside of Houston, Texas. So, plenty of dealers indeed. The ruby red one is further south (Angleton), and more of a truck type of small town.

Can the X-plan be used with the 0%/1000 rebate ? I have a pin # as well (company supplier), and if they have to give the 38349 plus 1000/0%apr and 750 brochure, that may be a better deal.

Yes the x-plan can be used with the finance incentive, as well as the 750 brochure coupon. Just keep in mind, xplan is non-negotiable pricing (and fees are capped at $100). At this point in the model year, you should try for under invoice before incentives, and only fall back on xplan if they absolutely won't budge and you don't have other choices.

It looks like you can use x-plan with the offer. But, like I and others have said you can do better than x-plan AND get the 0%/$1,000 offer. I ordered a 2016 Mustang GT Premium and BEFORE rebates I paid ~$725 below x-plan. Depending on your state, you may do better because in my state there is no limit on "doc. dealer fees", which were $398. If you do x-plan they will add $100 on top of that, don't forget.

Most of the major places in houston give better prices than xplan to begin with. Even moreso now with 2015 clearance

I've been looking around the Houston area too and from the talks I've had with some of the dealers you should be able to get another 1000 maybe 2000
