2015 GT PP winter tires ?

Hi all,
I bought a set of 19x9 brembo pack wheels from a 2014 stang, wheels fit nice on my car, now, what tires should I install for winter?

255x40x19 or 245x45x19 ?? :shrug: or may be something else?

I've used continental extremewintercontact on my 2004 crown vic and they where good. And have yokohama iceguard ig51v on American muscle laguna seca rims from my 2014 sho I will be putting on my gt.

Blizzaks or X-Ice winter tires. Do not cheap out on the only part your Mustang has contact with the road.

I have 19x8.5 for my winter wheels and went with xi3 245/45.

For snow/ice conditions, a narrower tire is usually better as the weight of the car is spread over a smaller contact patch (think tall skinny rear tractor tires!). I don't know if there would be a huge difference in traction with 10mm though, but everything helps.

I'm going to run the stock A/S Neros out here in Vancouver. We didn't get any snow last year and it rarely went below zero. If we do get some bad weather, I'll drive the wife's AWD Escape or work from home for the day.

Unfortunately it isn't far away. You should know that better than most since it has snowed in Edmonton in August before. lol

Ehh true. The mustang will be parked for the winter.. although I'd want to try the snow mode. Likely not this winter though as I won't have winters on

lucky you, I will be there for part of winter, so, just getting ready, if it gets too ugly I will just take the overland .

Looks like 245 will be the minimum size for the 9"wheels, any more thoughts?

I tried that snow/wet mode - that is downright dangerous on its own. I step on the gas and NOTHING happens for about two seconds. I won't be using it.

If I lived in harsher areas of the country, I would go with 245s and a really good winter ice tread like the Bridgestones, Continentals or Michelins - they are all very comparable. I had Conti DWS for my ST for the winters here in B.C. and they were great - not true winters but had good traction and performance for what we see here in the Vancouver area.

I would go with Michelin Xice, i have those on my Explorer and love them.
