2015 GT350 Opportunity

That's another thing I was thinking about. The Laguna Seca editions while outdated are holding their value better which leads me to believe that a 2015 will do the same. Maybe not 5-10k over will be worth it. I am going to make a deal with him today no matter what. I will push for a 2015 at sticker since my dad is going to buy a f350 platinum the the soon. Maybe make a package deal.

Obviously if you get lucky with a 2015 model you will have only one of 50 cars so in my humble opinion the value of this model year will do well based on this car being a 50th Anniversary model for the Shelby GT350 but most importantly due to it's very low production volume.

Your point about the Boss 302 Laguna Seca's is well taken as it was not long ago that I had to make room for another car and I ended up selling my 2012 LS for more than I bought it for and I purchased it brand new which certainly substantiates your comments.

Today might be a bit stressful for you but have a much fun as you can making a deal on one of these great cars!

Thanks bud I appreciate it. About 10ish years ago I told my parents I would buy a 50th anniversary Mustang because 1) how many cars can say they've been around for 50 years 2) I think it will appreciate over time whether that be 30+ years down the road and 3) I knew it would be a cool package. Well I couldn't find a 50th for sticker which is all I would pay and then Ford came out with a 50th anniversary Shelby!!!!! I mean thats everything I want all rolled up into one which I will be willing to pay a little extra for. Once the deal is done I will let everyone know. :cheers::ford:

I agree. 5 years from now a '15 will probably be worth a couple thousand more than a '16 in similar condition but not 5-10K.

By the way, I got my 15 F350 Platinum dually for less than Xplan price a year ago when they were still pretty new. You should be able to get a really good deal on one a year later. I think it was about $10K below MSRP.

Thats the deal with the f350 10k off or nothing. I have a deal for a 2016 in writing so thats not a big deal. I hope they aren't planning on doing a switch like that. Now just to make sure. is there anyway to find out the difference between a 2016 and a 2015? Like what would the vin be?

I have a unique opportunity and would like to get some members opinions. The dealer I've been working with on a 2016 350 is getting a 2015. I called and asked what color it was and what they were asking for it. My salesman came back and said it has not been ordered yet and if I decide to get it I can choose whatever options I want. However, unlike the 2016, they want 10k over. Normally I would say no and just wait for a 2016 but this is a car I intend to keep for a very long time and see it as a possible investment opportunity, not that that really matters to me. It will still be my daily driver but knowing that it will be a one of 50 car especially in a market where rare mustangs and shelbys go for astronomical numbers I am seriously considering it. I will try and talk them down to 5k over maximum. Again I just want to see what other members have to say about it. Thanks!!! :cheers:

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the 10th letter in the VIN is the year. For 2015 it will be F, for 2016 a G

The 10th digit in the VIN of the car indicates the model year for this car.

If the 10th digit in the VIN is an "F" that will indicate a 2015 model and if it is a "G" that will indicate a 2016 model.

The "F" or "G" should be followed by a "5" (Flat Rock) and then a 6 digit VIN indicating the build sequence number?

I.E.: 1FA6P8JZXF5520001

The above VIN should be close for the first 2015 Shelby GT350.

Personally I wouldn't pay over MSRP, I would just pickup a 2016 especially since you are going to drive it. I am not aware of anyone paying a large ADM and it has worked out financially. In a couple of years, Ford will introduce something better that everyone will want and the 2015 will be old news. Look at the Boss 302's, people paid big ADM's to get one early and they are mostly forgotten with the GT350. You kinda have to step back from the hype and look at history, if you want to pay $5K-$10K to drive one a month early, it is up to you but don't think it will be worth that much more years from now when Ford is producing lots of 2016 and 2017 models (maybe with better colors and options) and newer offerings that are more exciting than a used 2015.

Have you seen what a 997 GT3 RS goes for these days?

I did 20k over MSRP for a 2007 GT3RS and will never do that again. The only new car i made money on was the Ford GT. Paid 165k and sold it for 190k...however, now they are selling for 300k!. Still looking for a 2016 GT350 for MSRP.

I remember when I was getting my 06 GT there were 2 Ford GTs in stock, Black with white stripes and white with black stripes. They were just sitting there with no interest. He said take either for 160 or both for 300!
