2015 GT350 Opportunity

I have a unique opportunity and would like to get some members opinions. The dealer I've been working with on a 2016 350 is getting a 2015. I called and asked what color it was and what they were asking for it. My salesman came back and said it has not been ordered yet and if I decide to get it I can choose whatever options I want. However, unlike the 2016, they want 10k over. Normally I would say no and just wait for a 2016 but this is a car I intend to keep for a very long time and see it as a possible investment opportunity, not that that really matters to me. It will still be my daily driver but knowing that it will be a one of 50 car especially in a market where rare mustangs and shelbys go for astronomical numbers I am seriously considering it. I will try and talk them down to 5k over maximum. Again I just want to see what other members have to say about it. Thanks!!! :cheers:

Had a similiar opportunity....But passed on it, ADM was in the same area. I think for the reasons you stated that is a VERY fair deal. I will be piling up miles and track time with my 16.

If you're going to consider this to be an investment, order it, drive it home, park it and sell it now for the greatest return. Otherwise, you'll have to wait 20-25 years to see prices go up to a point where you can make real money on it at a collector car auction. In between those times, especially if you pile up the miles, it will just be a depreciating asset. And if you go for it, white with blue stripes will have the greatest potential for return, because those are traditional Shelby colors.

You'll probably get blasted for paying ADM. You have to decide if it's worth an extra $5000 to be one of the 50 to have a 2015. Five years from now, will the '15 be worth five thousand dollars more than a '16? Maybe. Will you care?

You probably thought that because a lot of people assume that and post that without anyone at Ford actually telling them that.

I thought the same. When I call tomorrow I will make sure. The investment part I really could care less about but being one of 50 would be pretty sweet and I can have it by the end of the month.

I know that most members hate ADM as I do too but being that it is so rare I can kind of see why they would charge more. I'm wanting to keep it longer than 5 years.

5k isn't horrible, if you can get it. The question I would be asking myself is, "Will I get 5k more when I ultimately sell this car. Will it's status as a 2015 be worth (financially) the extra?" If I had a spare 60k that I could invest and NEVER drive it. I think it's a solid deal/investment. For me, my car will be a driver. I'll put 10k miles per year on my gt350. So it's not terribly about investment and is completely about daily enjoyment.

Then again 5k+ might be worth it emotionally to know that you will have a 2015! What ever you choose, I hope you get what your going after.

$5000 isn't bad... The '15 is indeed rare brother. If they budge, I'd probably take it.

If not, see if your position on the '15 will get you a slightly better deal on a '16.

Just get the 2016. The 2015 wont be an investment. If it truly is, have the dealer put it in writing that they will buy it back from you for twice what you paid for it in 5 years. Furthermore, if you were to trade in the car in a year, do you think your dealer will pay anywhere close to what you paid? Of course not

If it was strictly an investment then I'd buy it no problem. But, like you, it will be a driver. Appreciate the kind words as well.

$5000 isn't bad... The '15 is indeed rare brother. If they budge, I'd probably take it.

If not, see if your position on the '15 will get you a slightly better deal on a '16.

He said I'm first on the list for a 2015 and 2016 and I've already agreed on sticker for a 16.

Anytime there is a run of only 50 cars, the came will surely be higher. if your intentions are to keep it and be an investment then it's worth the little extra to get the 15.
