So the cars are getting undercoated in Zeebruge then I take it?

Now we have 2 boat trips to contend with :frusty:

Did your source say the reason why this was?

It's on a computer system I saw the movements on, it looks like it's entering and exiting a couple of different places in Zeebruge, so reckon it's for the undercoat.

That's where all the cars are being delayed though so it's annoying to know our cars will have to go through the same port and process but only to find they have to be put back on a boat to Southampton. I guess they will time it hopefully with the next boat through Zeebruge.....

Looking forward to getting my UCL car some time in December then!

It's all about the money.... ;)

Ford probably received a better price in Zeebrugge for the undercoat this way and even when calculating the additional shipping costs across to Southampton, it may still save a huge bundle (I work in shipping and believe me, there are lots of things that does not make sense at all!).

Price of the Euro I'd say

Not necessarily.

Freight costs by Deep Sea Transport (ie across the Atlantic and the like) are always charged in USD. Local charges in local currency. But these fees are very small and are paid by Ford/Dealer in the country of destination and not by Ford USA.

I've seen vehicles come into Southampton, and instead of being loaded onto transporters to go dealers, they go back on a ship to new flushing, Then back onto another ship into dagenham, then onto a transporter, to the dealer,
Now that makes sense :))

Mate your still get it moved quicker.. Was originally 3 month lead time for deliveries. They was always going there first it was where they was going to land in UK that was up for debate. I'm currently in Vegas and I hired a V8 convertible.. Only basic as no leather or line lock but still nice to enjoy the sun and have a preview of my next car...
