First, it is powdercoating not paint. Powdercoating will not aid or decrease the intakes ability to disperse or retain heat. It's purely cosmetic and the performance between the two is the same.

Intake is a good addition to the Mustang, but there are a few things I would recommend before the intake to see bigger gains.

1. Tune - MAP Cobb Accessport

2. Intercooler - MAP Billet Endtank Intercooler or MAP Intercooler and Pipes

3. Downpipe - Catless Downpipe or Catted Downpipe

Before you do any modifications I highly recommend swapping out your stock plugs.

MAP NGK 6510 Spark Plugs

Here is why:

CHANGE YOUR PLUGS THREAD
Are the NGK 6510 Spark Plug a Hotter or cooler Burn ? Is there a significant amout of less Blow out with these Plugs when properly gapped for the 2.3 turbo ?
What is the safest Recomendable user gaps for these specific plugs ?

The 6510s are a range colder which means that they transfer more heat from the combustion chamber to the coolant system through the head. When you reduce the cylinder temps, within a safe range, it helps mitigate knock and/or pre-ignition. That's where the benefits of cooler plugs are found.

Plugs in and of themselves shouldn't affect blow-by.

Generally speaking, you want the widest gap possible with having spark blow-out issues. Given that most tunes run higher boost, you want to reduce the gap to reduce the potential for that. The recommended range for tuned cars is 0.026-0.028. I've been running 0.026 for the last little while (down from 0.028). The EcoBoost engines really seem to prefer that range.
