If you do make that trip, hit me up! I live right at the top of Scotland and would love to see another Mustang.

For me it'll be

The first start up and bringing her home
Shifting MT again but in my modern day 400+hp, V8, Brembo beast
Pacific Coast Hwy coastal road trip from Los Angeles to Monterey in a day
Walking up to her before I get in to drive away, every time
Walking away from her with a she's mine and isn't she "fine" look back
The post 1000 mile break in WOT day without worrying about breakage
It's been 54 years since my MT modded, Y-Block V8, 56' Fairlane
Drivers second looks because she's that Ruby Red metallic Mustang GT
In LA most cars are Black, White or Grey.
Starting her in my Condos underground parking spot whenever I leave.
After classes, a ride along and getting comfortable .. our First Track Day
Doing her 1st mods - Diode Dynamics LED and a Black Moroso AOS
Downshifting before a FWY/HW curve and accelerating through it
Going to my first Mustang meet up

Well........

Since I've finished paying for such fripperies as mortgage, kids at Uni, and generally having the sh1test of family saloons and hatchbacks. I've been fortunate enough for the last three cars I've purchased to be brand new sport coupe's, two of which had/have 2 doors and 2 seats, one having the coolest doors ever and four seats (RX8, incidentally, the mpg on my 5.0 Mustang will probably be better).

My colleagues are always at me for what's next, so, as with most of you above, first drive etc, I'm looking forward to driving into my works car park, windows down, wearing a Stetson, cowboy boots and Levi jeans with the song 'Play that funky music' by Wild Cherry on the Shaker Pro! (now you all have that song in your head )

Just sayin'.........

I didn't want to start a new thread for this so apologies it's a little off topic.
Ford Europe have released a really cool 20 minute video for the Mustang launch, some great shots of the Euro spec.
Never been more tempted to change my order from Magnetic to Race Red!
Oh & once I have mine, as soon as the weather permits, I'm taking a week off & heading up to Scotland - you will see why...

Is that Hastings by any chance?
Haha yes thanks to you it is!

Just thinking of the best route back, I may stick with M25 till I'm through the tunnel and then just wing it!

I plan on picking mine up 100 miles north in Inverness with no plans of taking it straight back home. If weather allows at that time of year like it did last winter I'll be doing this;
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/t...rip-past-fairytale-castles-beaches-ruins.html

Should just about break the new engine in.
Wow!
That looks awesome. Been talking to the Mrs about doing it next year.
Not only that, it could work well with my brother. He is planning on doing a costal trip around Britain with his Mrs on his Harley Road Kind. I spoke to him about the idea of me meeting him at Inverness and doing this part of the trip with him and he loved the idea.
Will make for some cracking photo opportunities. Americas most iconic car and Americas most Iconic motorbike on Scotlands answer to route 66!

I bought my Mercury Grand Marquis up near Inverness.

Had to fly to Aberdeen then a long train journey. Picked up the car and drove through Inverness then down along the north bank of Loch Ness. Drove around Ben Nevis but even though it was June it was torrential rain and clouds barely above the trees.

Stopped overnight in Onich then the next morning it was down through Glen Coe. Amazing in the mists. Looked like Lord of the Rings country.

Skirted Loch Lomond then hit the fast roads down to Glossop, stayed the night then did Snake Pass over the moors to Sheffield and then blasted down to London and home.

Definitely want to hit those roads and more in the Mustang.

Good thread....I am looking forward to;

1) Seeing the beast for the first time and knowing it's mine and not another visit to see one
2) Starting it up and driving it home where I will have my wife following behind with the go pro in her windscreen to catch that awesome moment
3) Dropping the wife's car off home and heading out for a drive to where ever it takes me, which will most likely be a 40 mile trip to see my brother-in-law (American muscle nut) and then 100 mile trip to show my mum and sis as they know how much I have wanted a muscle car.
4) Being able to look out the window and see my pride and joy sitting there and most likely picking up the keys to go for a drive.
5) One last one and that's the sense of achievement that I have managed to get this car

I can't wait for all of us UK lot to get our cars and be able to enjoy them

For those talking of heading to the Dartford tunnel, it's been ruined by cameras everywhere but you can still do a few blips of the throttle through there.

Hindhead Tunnel for me. On the way to the coast. Top down. No toll. 70 mph limit. :D

May see you on there as that is the route to see wife's family. It's definitely not the worst but they need to replace those bare patches of concrete (Maldon turn off onwards) with tarmac!!
