Katy Group Ford has listed a 2016 SHELBY GT350R with the electronics package allocation for a 25K ADM over MSRP! That is the biggest ADM for any GT350 or GT350R so far. I wonder who the person will be to drop an extra 25 large for it. That is Corvette ZO6 money!
And people are going to pay it because there are only 500 R's being made per year; about 10 per 50 states.

And I wouldn't buy a GM even if you paid me which all of their recall issues and dire financial problems that have come to light recently. I also looked on Chevy's site for inventory and there is not 1 Z06 around me for less than $92k, so YMMV.

That's IF Chevy dealers aren't charging an ADM too! This dealership marked one up $50k only 4 months ago and was all over the news http://www.torquenews.com/106/california-chevy-dealer-adds-50k-2015-corvette-z06-price And seeing that they were marked up with ADM the first few months, and not even a production number capped car like the R at 500.

Don't forget the unlucky 104 families of the ignition related deaths.

I'd pay ADM before I bought a GM under MSRP...

Being patient here will likely pay off in the end.

I don't have the religious brand loyalty of some. I buy cars from whatever manufacturer produces a good one.

I love my "Death Mobile" Solstice GXP, one of the cars affected by the ignition key recall. It's a sexy, great handling, fast sports car. I just don't have a 2lb key chain hanging from the key. Just the fob.

Exactly. I looked at a Stingray before buying my GT. Of course it was when the first Stingrays were on the lots and no one wanted to deal at all and $65-70k was too much for a car personally. I still like the car a lot looks-wise, but I don't think it's worth $65-70k anymore honestly.

Now with the ignition deaths and GM lying in their bankruptcy recently that could have criminal and huge (Billions with a B) civil penalties I'm glad I stayed with Ford (after my S197). GM just seems a little less than stable at this point where I question where it will be in 5 years.

I've experienced $60k for an R. Damn near 100%! Supposedly, 3 were sold at that price with 3 more who were willing to do it as well. However, that's been the exception.

Not actual VIN #.
Fairfield ford quoted me 100k over for the base . Manny the mustang guy was quoting 25k for the base, 75k for the R.

Shoot for the moon, and if you miss, you still hit the stars right??.

Is that the cure?
The issues stem from heavy key rings causing enough twisting force on the key to overcome the resistance in the ignition cylinder and shut the car off, which also kills power steering and the airbags.

It was a big deal, since some folks at GM knew about the issue and delayed dealing with it. A dozen+ employees were fired for glossing over it. They'll likely never let something like this happen again.

Kind of like the Space Shuttle Booster Rocket O-Rings. Big management stonewalls until something major shakes things up.

Personally, I have enough confidence in my driving skills to continue steering the car with power steering off. The recall replaces the cylinder with one that doesn't turn off so easily and I think they supply a key with only a center hole vs the long arc shaped hole.

Meh, I remember doing hundreds of fuel tank recalls on Pintos to keep them from exploding. Others were not so lucky.

Also, the first gen Taurus may have offed a few too.

And don't get me started on what kind of person Henry Ford was.

Sorry.

Henry Ford has been dead for 68 years. Whatever kind of person he was has ZERO bearing on what Ford Motor Company does today.

The dealer isn't the bad guy. He has 10 or more people in line to buy a car, so he'd rather sell to the one who will pay the most for the car.

In all other retail markets its first come first serve in the order you arrive to buy it. Its why in every other aspect of retail business, lines build up around the block for new releases on gadgets, sports footwear and whatever other disposable income item there is that come to Market.

Only in the Automotive dealership model do you get a highest willing buyer served first over the first person to make a call or show up at their door.

Therefore the business is by its very nature .... geared towards greed and the very stereotypes they deserve.
