Let me guess...Bickford?

I just got this reply from them:

" The order banks at the factory are open now, and production will start within the next week or two. I can order the car to your specs. The MSRP on the car with the tech package is going to be approximately 70000.00, and I am ordering them for 17500.00 over the MSRP."

So not only are they trying to charge a $17,500 ADM, they are lying their ass off on the MSRP.
You are correct, Bickford. Were they quoting you for a GT350R?

I wonder how many takers they've gotten.

But I will, and I will be paying MSRP. In return, my dealer will be getting at least one truck sale from me within the year, probably two. Later they will get additional sales. I sold them my B302 when I could have gotten more elsewhere. You see how that works? If you don't understand this it's called cultivating client relations for a long term relationship and return business.

Galvin can do whatever the hell they want. They're the biggest giant behemoth dealership there is. But for someone like me who doesn't like to get gouged, I have no reason to do business there.
Of course I understand your point. I've been here nearly 15 years and work completely by repeat and referral. I've sold entire families and business offices their cars. Any good salesman understands that the business is about relationships. I'm very honest with my friends and family who contact me about these specialty cars. There is no "bro" deal on a Raptor or GT500/GT350. You want a regular F-150, Mustang, Focus, etc, of course I'll hook them up. But don't expect what can't be done on the specialty vehicles. And because of that, I still make deals with them somehow and they still come back to me.

No. I asked for a plain GT350. Guess they are hoping someone won't do their homework?

If I was in the market for a 350 I'd be angered by those with more money keeping me out of one. I was recently in a situation like this when buying my house. Every house in a certain price range was being over bid on between the buyers and the investors. It got to where I was offering a good chunk over list on houses just to get a chance at one. It'd be nice if everyone would adhere to the no adm code of honor. But truth be known it's dog eat dog out there and people are willing to pay to be one of the few to say they have a 350/350R. Gotta pay to play if these things are hot an item as they appear to be.

Well, there goes my 'R'.

My salesman called today. Someone offered the GM $33.5k ADM for the R I have a DORA on, but no purchase agreement. He was calling to give me the chance to match the offer.

I declined.

They are also charging $8k ADM for the 350.

Wow! Maybe he was including the $17k twice or got his math way off. A standard GT350 w/tech is $57,500. Tack on $17,500 ADM and you're at $75,000.

Charging ADM in the first place is debatable on the douchyness, but rescinding an agreed upon deal when someone else is willing to pay more leaves no doubt.

I highly suggest you start shaming them on yelp/google reviews/facebook/etc

:crazy:. Its one thing to ask an up front ADM, its another to make a deal and play the good ol bait and switch

Just got more info from my salesman.

He's really upset. I've bought multiple cars from him and he hated to make the call.

The other offer is from a dealer in Washington state who had no 'R' allocation.

I'm glad I picked up my 2015 Z/28 for $22,000 under MSRP. It makes the wait for a GT350 at or under MSRP that much easier.

Wow, yeah I talked to "manny the mustang guy" out of vegas, who says he is the largest SVT dealer int eh country, and he was doing jsut taht, buying allocations from other dealers and upcharging on his end. 25k over for the base and 75k over for the R.

Well this is a lesson for all of us that have 'ordered' cars, have a Dora etc. Unless you have a signed sales contract with a VIN, all we can do is cross our fingers.

The R's are going to be hard to come by. they are only making 500 in 2016, so that's what, 10 per state? The huge ADM offer doesn't surprise me.

Expect dealers to offer ADM to other dealers to get trade to sell to someone at even more ADM if they have 0 allocations or none left and sold out; regular and Rs.

And FYI to all an order confirmation/DORA is not a legally binding contract. Just as the buyer can back out when the car arrives as nothing is signed for until the car arrives and the contract is signed and car paid for. Not the best business practice, but nothing illegal to write crappy reviews of the dealerships online about. One GT350 at a high ADM could be like selling 10 cars for them.

I get being pissed and I would too, but everyone had an idea that getting one at MSRP would be tough and may be too good to be true.
