Alright, so I'm new to mods, but my new brand new V6MT 2015 mustang is really giving me an itch to squeeze more power out of it.

I'm pretty impressed with the performance of this car for a v6 (did a 5.8 0-60; and even beat a buddy on an all wheel drive twin-turbo VR4 0-80mph:first: [mind you in a private road:D]), specially given it's the first time I actually own anything with more than 150hp lol.

So anyone could give me an idea of where to start? Significant bolt-ons and what not? I've been thinking of axle-backs, some steeda springs, CAI (not necessarily in that order)? And also was rather curious about a throttle body spacer, like this one:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/sr-throttle-body-spacer-1114v6.html

Doesn't seem to add much power (if any), but a lot of people seem to claim better mpg and better 0-60 times due to more constant low end torque and throttle response. It looks like you maybe go a bit faster because of the $100 less you have in your wallet? So worth it or paperweight?

There's lots you can do, do let anyone tell you otherwise. While not as inexpensive as a flash tune like the EB, you can also get a tune to increase power in the V6. You can also get headers, CAI, exhaust, and most any mods that would fit the 12-14 Mustang V6. These cars are already fast and have enormous potential. Just remember to upgrade the drive shafts if you are looking t,o upgrade to very high HP. The cars have a limiter and they weren't built with racing in mind so you should strengthen the drivetrain components accordingly. Get a strut tower brace, springs as well as subframe connectors which will keep you car as tight as possible and make it Handle better than any other Previous Mustang. These are different cars than before- like you've noticed they perform amazingly well right off the showroom floor. With time and Money- you'll have a very fast machine that will outdo most other cars around.

Congrats Omejicanos! I used to drive a 2012 Civic Lx manual haha! I even see you have a few things added to your beast already, any 0-60s done yet?

And thanks for the tips Stam616! I'll probably start with a CAI and springs (get rid of that minimal wheel gap). And know any place that has tunes for the 2015 v6? Can't seem to find any...

IDK if anyone could answer me this, but here we go anyways: as far as drive shaft though, I heard that for 2015 the v6 shares pretty much the same one as the GT, so it should be able to take a heavier punch than previous v6 mustangs (for example taking out the speed limiter seems to no longer be a problem like it was before, where it would fail past 130mph+)... Now this is what I heard, maybe I heard wrong, but it would be good to get some confirmation!

You're welcome. I don't know any places that have tunes but look on the forums as I'm sure you'll find them. As to the driveshaft question. I have not heard what you have. I would ask someone at Your Ford service dept. or a speeds hop you can trust just to be sure.

I think Torrie at Unleashed is the only person currently tuning the 2015 V6. There are a couple guys on the forum with his tune and they seem pleased.

Same boat here. I come from a KIA Forte Koup. Word of advice: Never buy a KIA.

I'm enjoying the V6 so much, and it has so much potential for modding even for a newbie like myself.

I recently got my Roush axle-backs, with an Airaid CAI on the way. It's not affecting my performance by much, but boy does it sound nice compared to the stock V6. If you care about sound, I'd definitely start with a nice exhaust. I'd recommend Roush, but I'm biased. :p

Kind of off topic, but I see you got the Roush Axle-backs. Did you keep everything else with the exhaust stock? I've seen some people complain about drone, but that seems to be from people changing out the resonator or adding headers.

Just ordered my Roush axle-backs yesterday and they should be here by tomorrow :headbang::headbang:

No 0-60 times yet Dave . I want to take her out to the track but I'm completely unfamiliar with all that here in southern Cali.

You should have seen good gains with the axle backs.
I haven't done a dyno run or a 0-60 yet to tell you the numbers. But I definitely don't "feel" any performance gains. The combination with CAI might change this though. We'll know in a week!

Yes, everything else with the exhaust is stock. Mainly cause my car is leased and I want to make sure all my modifications are surgical and reversible if I do decide to return it (which I don't think I would, since I fucking love this car so far).

There is definitely a drone. But honestly, it's only noticeable the first few times you're cruising in the highway at around 2000 RPM. Back then, it wasn't bothersome to me, but I definitely noticed it. Now, I don't even hear it. I guess I've gotten used to it. It's a really subjective thing and depends on how sensitive you are to the drone.

You'll definitely enjoy them though. The first time you start revving the car or floor the gas with the windows rolled down, it will make you smile ear to ear. It sounds amazing! :headbang:

Damn, that just further justifies my purchase. I just got delivery confirmation and they should be here on Friday. I've honestly never owned a car with a custom exhaust so I'm not sure how I'll feel - I've also never owned a car worth putting a custom exhaust on so there's that haha.

The sound, from what I've seen in only videos, is music too my ears. Love my V6 but it definitely needs a custom exhaust. Thanks for the reply btw!
