"In a car with significant turbo lag one would hope that it has an excellent transmission to make up for the wait time on the power. That is not the case here..."

So his take is that the trans is shit AND the EB has a lot of turbo lag...?

Is he from an alternate dimension?

His only insult that had any basis in reality was a slam on all 2015 fastbacks...that the backseat is useless. Me thinks this putz has an axe to grind. I want the last 5 minutes of my life back.

Pretty much this, there is no backseat really haha. The whole article is typical trash from that website though.

Another good post on the review:

"Man Drives Automatic Car, Complains About Power Delivery"

Seriously, why bother with Jalopnik?

I have a base, auto, PP car and.... Other than that smoke screen in the McDonald's drive through.... I love it. Probably because it is the exact opposite of my 810rwhp 07 GT500 drag/R&D car in every possible way. The eco is NOT the configuration I would choose as my only car/Mustang. But for a (relatively) light, (kinda) nimble DD, it's perfect.

I would really like to see the sales #s if they offered the V6 in premium trim.

But back to the article...I think the EB needs to be lighter...about 250 lbs lighter.

Now mind you he was prob running 87 octane and he didn't have the PP so right there are some serious issues. Plus he probably wasnt in Sport mode or Sport+.

I stopped reading when I got to the complaining about the backseat.

Has there ever been a performance car with a decent sized backseat? Has there ever been a Mustang with a decent sized backseat? Or a 2-door car in general with a decent backseat?

Seems like this guy just had a bone to pick with this car.

M3 ? CTS-V ? Chevy SS ? Chally ? Charger Hellcat or even ScatPack ?

Or those really aren't performance cars compared to Ecoboost ?

The Mustang is and was always a 2+2 seater. I hope everyone knows what that already says. No? 2 people can fit into the car and if someone needs a ride, there are two little seats in the back to have a short trip to the movie theatre. Jalopnik? OK. I think we got it. He doesn't like a I-4 engine and he doesn't like a AT. Every test driver stated already that the EB has close to no turbo lag. Now he comes and writes that it has?

Does the problem (2+2 seater) goes away if people buy the V6 or the GT?
I doubt that. Does this guy ever will figure out how to use the paddle shifters? I have no hope that he will.
And at last. The EB isn't the NORTH AMERICAN muscle car at all. The GT? YES! With the Mustang sold now worldwide, the EB will be for markets where 1 litre fuel cost around $2. I would like to see how many here in the forum would think twice about buying the GT if a 60 mile trip will cost you 1 1/2 time the money then with an EB. Only think about to pay $9 a gallon! Now you know why FORD has the EcoBoost engines. Last week I tried not to drive faster than 62 miles and got easily 35 MPG.
Will I ever trying to keep up with the GT's? Not at all...... If I would - I would've ordered a GT right away.

He was out to Slam this car from the start

Ever since I decided on the Mustang eco (in sept. 2014), I started reading every review I could find on this car. Also watched many you tube videos of test drives.
Most were favorable reviews, with some concerns, but NO ONE gave such a scathing, negative review as this guy did. So, consider this...Is He right? And is everyone else wrong? I think not.
I think he was out to slam this car before he even got in the drivers seat. I think he is probably one of those "5.0 or nothing" guys, which is fine. But don't slam the eco just because it doesn't deliver what the 5.0 can deliver. After all, it isn,t supposed to.
His review is biased, and just trash. Dismiss this guy if you are still considering purchasing an eco Mustang.....

I read jalopnik every day. I can't really believe this made it the front page there, it's such a horrible article.
