^ You forgot, they sound like shit...literally. They sound like your sitting outside of a public bathroom at Wrigley Field after 3000 people ate a bad batch of hot dogs.

And at least to a Mustang you aren't required to look like a douche to drive it...I'm pretty sure every Subaru comes with a flat billed hat, TapOut shirt, and white sunglasses in the trunk.

I think you're mistaking subies for 350/370z's as far as the shirt and sunglasses go? Similar could be said about Mustang owners in the aspect of a beard, shitty tattoos and cig hanging out of their mouth. (just what ive heard) lol.

I personally love the sound of the boxer rumble with unequal length headers. I got thousands of compliments on my STI. It was rather loud, but sounded great. To each their own.

Lots of people love the 'Boxer rumble'.

:D:lol:

All said jest, of course. I used to have a 1978 Trans Am...I heard a lot of jokes. Someone even gave me a mullet wig and some casettes/CD's to go along with it.

those STI are pretty quick. and its all wheel power, so don't try and out launch one because you cant.
idk about top end though. im pretty sure the v8 would pull on it.

the car itself is not rice junk...I think that's what people turn it into. with lowering it and adding 35 degree camber plates "shudder"...
it is a great platform and has proven to be reliable under high stress. the boxer engine is one of my favorites. minus the sound.
and its a rally car. which is pretty freaking bad ass.

How so? The transmission maybe. It is not uncommon for completely stock sti engines to grenade themselves.

ive had a wrx. not an sti. and that thing was used and abused and pushed to the limit often. never "grenaded" on me.
i did need a new turbo though...
i was not on Subaru forums and didn't know anybody else with one at the time. i guess i was speaking from my own personal experience.

On stock tune and the wrong oil, that can be common. If you are in the "know" about boosted Subies (wrx, sti, forester, etc) the first thing you do to prolong the life of your motor is replace the stock tune and run T6 oil. If you do your research before buying and follow protocol, they can last a rather long time. Just like any vehicle, really.

You do have a point with the STi transmission. They're damn near bulletproof. Easily holding 700whp.

Edit- I live the boxer rumble, as long as it still has UEL.

My coworker's Scooby sounds really good at least at lower RPM. I haven't heard it at full song yet. :)

What is it about the "subaruo" that makes it junk?
AWD, great weight distribution, an a solid weight to power ratio.
