Its weird, its like a misfire but acts like its a quarter of one. The engine will run smooth and then a small "misfire" feel but not like a full-on misfire. I have been thinking of ways to show it but its not really something u can see but more so something you can feel. Its also like when you have old spark plugs or frayed spark plugs wires and ur not getting good spark and the engine jumps a little.
That's exactly what mine does. You can feel it come through the seat. It would make you think the engine is misfiring but I'm starting to think it's just the way the engine might be clearing out residue when it first starts, like a mini backfire.

Yup, there's no other way to describe it. Is anyone else with/without the CEL experiencing this?

Anyone call the dealerships this week yet? I called to see if any fix is out. Nothing here in Canada.

I just sent mine in today for the same problem. They said there should be no issue driving it, and just let it be until Ford sends them a fix.

Alright guys, so i dont have any updates from the dealer but i do have something worth mentioning. So i purchased the NGK spark plugs one step colder and i installed them about a week n a half ago. My cel was on when i changed them. My cel never went away when it originally would go away n come back wirh oem spark plugs. I thought it was wierd so i went back and changed the spark plugs back to oem. Lo and behold the cel went away. I remember that Dabsevo had his spark plugs changed and his cel never came back. Could it be just a simple spark plug change n thats all? What do u guys think?

I will do the plugs this weekend myself and try to figure it out. What plugs did u use? What gap did you do?

N/M found it.

Sorry I was a little mixed up in reading your post. Do you mean to swap to NGK and then swap back again to OEM?

No. To clarify I just purchased the NGK in preparation for a tune and just decided to swap to the NGK so I removed the OEM plugs and changed them to the NGK. The CEL light stayed on the whole time I had them in. Then I swapped back to OEM from the NGK and the CEL went off. Sorry if my post was written a little weird. Let me know if you need anything else.

Wow, that'weird.... If anything i would think the NGK's would fix it and going back to the OEM's would bring back the CEL.

I installed the NGK 6510s last night, no CEL so far. What was your gap?

That's exactly what I thought also, hence the reason why I changed to the NGK.

I gapped it to .28. What did you gap yours to?

Well I am not tuned and I'm sure that most of us here having this issue aren't also. And I wouldn't feel comfortable tuning until this issue is resolved. Anyways, I want to keep my warranty so I think ima wait to see what tune Ford will come out with. Shouldn't be that long now.
