I don't think I would mix spring types. Progressive would react differently than the linear style.
That doesnt even make sense... progressives are only that at the initial portion of travel. At the higher lend of travel, given a similar rate, the springs are delivering similar characteristics. Not only that, a more compliant front end would grip slightly better in the initial portion of the bump and the rear would more predictable, albeit more oversteer. The car already runs an overly rear bias set up straight from the factory. As long as the dampers are properly controlling the "jacking" nature of a given springs rate, it shouldnt be an issue.

I could be wrong though. :headbonk:

Steeda VS. Eibach

The Steeda's are about $70 more than the Eibach's (assuming that the new Steeda's wil, be priced around current ones, at $300). Are they noticeably better?

Thinking of saving the $$$.

Thanks.

Happy to help. These progressive springs will provide an exceptional ride quality and as roll increases, it increases the spring rates - that's the main difference between these and our current linear springs in which the currently available linear spring rate does not change.

For a majority of our customers, Steeda's new springs will offer the best of both worlds when it comes to performance and comfort. We've had our springs swapped in and out of the S550 hundreds upon hundreds of times since October of last year - a ton of R&D goes into all of our products.

The new progressives lower it 1.125" in front and 1" out back. The current linear ones drop the car 1" all around. Stock shocks/struts will be sufficient for either setup, although we are working on finalizing aftermarket shocks/struts.
Thanks for the technical input. So I want to be sure I understand. My 2105 GT Premium (non-PP, Magnetic, 6AT, 400A, 3.55) will be a daily driver, but I will also use it for spirited weekend touring. I want to lower it and the 1.125" F and 1" R sounds just about perfect. I will also be replacing wheels and tires. I will add some other Steeda suspension components, such STB, sway bars, extreme G-trac K-member, and rear IRS Subframe support braces. The wife will gripe and bug me if the ride is to "harsh." So I have to satisfy her and me at the same time (I know - this is almost an impossible task). So am I better off with progressive springs or linear springs?

Progressive springs will ride better than linear in this situation.

The progressive springs will also be unpredictable at higher speeds and aggressive driving.

If you could have the best of both there wouldn't be two choices. But we can't so pick your poison.

I would say progressive - literally just went for another ride in one of our S550's with the new springs and it was phenomenal. Flat in the corners and ride quality was better than OE in my opinion.

David@Steeda, since you are replying to this thread instead of the other one maybe you can answer my questions on your progressive spring?

What are the spring rates on these? I'm trying to get an understanding if these compare to the other progressive springs on the market.

Why is the V6 part # the same as the GT. Shouldn't the V6 be same at the Ecoboost part #?
