My main issue why I haven't bought a new mustang is financing. You can get a 2015 explorer for 0% to 60 months or 1.9% for 72 months! Why is the mustang a ridiculous 3.9% for 60 months and 5.9% for 72 months! I have perfect credit and I'm almost to 800. Is this seriously the best they can do? I'm thinking about looking into financing through my company's credit union or PenFed online. I hear they have great rates.
If you have that score, who cares what Ford is offering? I financed with a 3rd party. No comparison in rates.

Their rates are like that because of Supply and Demand. Everyone wants a Mustang. Give it a few months when the 2016 Roll out, they will give you better rates for the 2015 Models.

But if you want a Mustang now, going with a 3rd party lender is a excellent idea.

Yea, if you have access to PenFed why are you even looking at FordCredit? I must say FordCredit is an excellent lender, but they can only do so much with rates and they are taking advantage of the popularity on the car as mentioned above.

Take the PenFed and the $500 retail rebate Ford offers. If you have access to PenFed you are probably in a position to join Navy Federal Credit Union and they also have excellent rates.

Because Ford needs to give people an incentive to purchase the Explorer.

The Mustang is new and there is demand for it. So why take a hit on the financing when it isn't needed to sell the car?

Get PenFed approved and more than likely the financing person at the dealership will have Ford Credit match the rate and terms.

wow ford blowing up the camaro and challenger sales.

Less ugly slowmaros roaming the streets is always good imo.

sucks about the workers though, getting laid off is never fun.
They got laid off because they moved future Camaro production back to the U.S. From Canada, not because of any sales results.

I refinanced with a local credit union. Wasn't happy with my rate I got at the dealership. I have super low rate and they gave me $300 to Refinance with them. Couldn't be happier. Payment is super low for the caliber of car I'm driving.

Take a look at Digital Credit Union too https://www.dcu.org/ auto rates 1.74% right now. There's a few ways to join and if you need to buy a membership somewhere to join they are as low as $15.

I agree it's bad but in that line of work it's hit and miss. They are compensated very fairly so hopefully they saved for just this type of situation.

Plant workers don't necessarily go without a job. Often times when they get laid off the union moves them to another plant. Ford is going through the same thing and shared how they are transferring the workers to other facilities.

My dad worked for Ford at their assembly plant here in California way back when I was a kid, when they closed the plant, he got laid off, I'm sure they do things differently these days. He used to put the dashes in their cars, and that was before they had any systems to help them do it, talk about tough work...

Back then it was something brand new shiny and never seen before, the market now is crowded with many options and tons of ignorant people so we will never see numbers that big. Don't forget this will also be a worldwide release and that will spike the numbers towards the end of the year.
These numbers only reflect domestic sales. Mustang sold in foreign markets will not be included in the future.

I can't wait to see what Q'smuscle and other idiots over on C5 chalk the sales numbers up to. I'm sure once again it will be fleet sales. Of course, that would not explain why the Challenger sold almost as well as the Camaro in April. The sad thing is, they think 2010 is going to happen all over again and the gap will close once the 6th Gen Camaro is released. No doubt it will shrink, but the days of the Camaro leading the segment in sales are history. I don't think there will be as much demand for the 6th Gen as there was for the 5th Gen. Time will tell though.

I think this "delay" from August to November was put in place to properly handle the retirements and relocations.

Thanks to all the Oshawa workers for doing all the work. Oshawa is a world class facility, if there is room for more production, I'm sure they will look into it.
