I went to a dealer this morning to look at a 2015 Mustang that they had in stock. Much to my surprise, they had two 50 year anniversary editions in stock - one coupe and one convertible. I assumed these were long gone, but then it occurred to me that maybe the demand has slowed down as we approach the end of the 2015 model year.
Most of the sales are ecoboost models probably. I think the mustang just went 12,000 sales for two months in a row so I think the demand is still there.

It will be interesting what impact the 16 Camaro reveal in May will have on sales.

That's funny, because around here I've just started to see a few on the roads. I think demand is just taking off in the northern tier states due to spring finally getting here. I'm surprised in Massachusetts it isn't a similar situation.

My dealer has sold all of their stock except one GT to woo people with. My sales guy even hinted that if I'd be willing to go around the special order roller coaster again, he could sell my car (not delivered yet) and knock more money off the second one.
From what I'm seeing locally, I think demand is growing not shrinking, YMMV.

I bet people that paid 55-70k for LE are pissed. You can get them brand new for 47k now.

Depends upon where you live.............. some guy in upstate New York is not gonna shop the LA market and vice versa.

Some guy wanting a KB 6 Speed Manual don't care about Wimbledon Whites, KBs with Autos (and KB autos are/were damn rare to find) etc. People pay what they pay to insure they get "exactly" what they want when they want it...

I can buy used low mile 2012 Boss 302s all day long for $35 k...how stupid were the people buying new ones at MSRP back in the day thinking they got a great deal.....? Heck, wait 2 years and you can score a 2015 GT for serious money under well MSRP......

Paid MSRP for my LE but I got exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it, at the price I wanted to pay...not a worry here....

In Houston...there are massive inventories of Mustang's on the ground...IMO...demand has slowed...I think big discounts & larger rebates will be necessary to shrink inventories before the '16's are launched...

I have no doubt the new Camaro will take away some the the current Mustang sales momentum...I fully expect that '16 Mustang sales will shrink...

That's OK...no sense in flooding the market with new body Mustangs!!!

Detroit has a rich tradition in over producing vehicles!!! LOL

So true. I'm in Houston too. At least two dealerships near me that I've been by have well over 50 in stock. One had 150!

I'm in Sandy Springs, GA right now working out of town from Houston. I bought mine here. I rarely see any 15s cruising around. I've seen 3 or 4 ecoboosts and one blue GT.

GTs are still quite rare. I see Ecoboost and V6s's pretty damn often down here but I can count on one hand the number of GTs I've seen in the wild since the car launched.

Guessing I'll be in pretty rare company when I finally get mine.

Season on the east coast is just picking up post winter. Way too close to call on how successful the new body style will be...although I would not expect 2015 numbers to come close to matching 2005 sales (1st year of the new body) but there is a lot more competition now then in 2005 with the Camaro and Challenger.

Not the same thing at all. Used vs new. I can buy a NEW LE right now, Kona or WW for 15-25k less than people bought one for a few months back. That's pretty bad.

If I could go back in time and forgo my current GT and get a Kona Blue Automatic LE for $47K, I would totally do that.

I hadn't seen a single 2015 Mustang until about a month ago. Now I'm seeing 6 or 7 of them a day. To date, one GT and one Rousch; all the rest are either V6's or Ecoboosts (hard to tell them apart on the street unless you can get a look at the rear emblem).

I agree. Its hard to be patient (I hope to get a GT 350) but I don't want to be in the "First" group and overpay.
