Howdy,

I know the stock PP sizes are 255 on 9.0 front and 275 on 9.5 rear.
Does anyone know of any problems with running a square setup with 275 on 9.5 up front? fitment issues within the wheel well or perhaps sticking out beyond the fender?

I'm considering a 15 PP and would much rather have a 275 square setup.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone where hasn't already done this. My wife wrecked my '14 TP last week and I may be looking at a total or at least to get out of the car. just thinking ahead.

(yes, the ins company is evaluating a possible total loss on this)
I think a magnetic PP w/ Recaro's would suit me...

many scca events require a squared set up... there shouldnt be ANY issue fitting the rear 9.5 to the front.

No event I have ever been to.

I saw one report that you needed a spacer to run the PP rear wheel.up.front because of its offset (52.5 R vs 45 F). That strikes me as poor design on Fords part, as a 9.5" wheel of the proper offset fits up front with no issues.

nervous laughter. she thought i was gonna be livid. I wasn't, just disappointed in the damage. she was fine, that's all that really matters.

That is unfortunate. I guess I could run ARP's and a thin spacer if I needed. Although I'm finding out the PP wheels are apparently made of 'new' heavy metal.... boat anchors.

If I go forward w/ a replacement i'm considering a repeat of what I have or maybe just a stripped base GT w/ my own mods (shocks, springs, wheels/tires).

The PP wheels are a heavy cast wheel and the rear 9.5" does not fit on the front.

They use +52.5 offset to bring the rear wheels inboard more.

The rear track is wider than the front track and that does not help the car rotate and turn corners. So bringing the wheel in with a higher offset helps address that issue. Which is what they did with the PP wheels.

But fitting a larger wheel & tire on the rear would have the opposite effect, and probably a larger effect than a slight difference in track.

actually they both increase understeer or induce a push by way of adding rear grip.
increasing track width in the rear increases grip and subsequently shift the handling to more of a push
so does also increasing the tire width, more rear grip = more push.

anyway. it is an interesting idea that they may have tucked the rear in more to dial out some understeer. I'm OK w/ fattening up the front tires and getting the car to turn. i can always play w/ rear rates, bar rate, or rebound...
but this would be a street car and I doubt i'd notice much for that. I already have a GM track toy.

I'm running the 19x9.5 squared setup referenced above (My car in the pic). The rear PP wheels will rub against the front struts and do not fit. However if you want to make it work, the solution is as simple as running 1/4" spacers up front with the 19x9.5 rear PP wheels. My car is lowered on steeda springs with steeda sway bars and has zero drive-ability issues. In my opinion 19x9.5 squared should've been offered by the factory.

I already have recaros. I like them fine and would choose to order them again. Thanks though...
