You can only use that if you have a smartphone.

What is this Virtual Dyno? Can you dyno your car using this program? Is it accurate?

some people swear by it and some people say its completely wrong. Wanted to use it and then go to the dyno just for my own knowledge.

I haven't tried it, but every tuner I know says it's a waste of time.

Maybe it's a good thing it doesn't work with our cars. I could see some people getting excited about the 4000 ft lbs of torque there car doesn't have.

It is in no way accurate.
It is, within +/- 3%, if you set up the vehicle profile properly.

If you haven't tried it, then why say it doesn't work like you did above when your knowledge is based on what someone else says? I've had good results with it, and in my experience, it's been within about 2.2%. It actually read just a tad lower, in my case.

For what it's worth, my dyno numbers on all my tunes so far are almost spot on with the dyno results published by the tuners.

Like I said though, you'll have to set up a profile and plug in the right information. Vehicle weight, trans gears, rear end gear, drag coefficient, etc.

Have been using Vdyno along with real dynos for years now. The software when used correctly (just like an in-ground dyno) has repeatable results that are very close to real power. It uses the rate of acceleration of the car, weight, gearing, and frontal surface area to determine power output. That means you have to input these factors correctly and make sure you are logging on a flat straight road without major head or tail winds and no wheelspin.

These kind of results and tools are possible because data logging from the OEM ECU is so accurate and fast. This wasn't the case 10-15 years ago and perhaps this is where the negative stigma comes from. The biggest advantage to taking data logs with the vehicle actually moving on the road is that it is properly loaded and cooled - something that is often not done in most dyno shops simply because it is costly and difficult to achieve.
