Wow when's she supposed to be done?
Dropped it off Monday, they said Friday. I got this picture today so I'm thinking more like Monday or Tuesday. I'd want the clear coat to sit longer than overnight anyways so I'm ok with it.

Got damn, what the hell happened? Bird shit made you repaint the whole car? Hell if it's that sensitive I'll be Opti-Coating it on delivery day!
Not bird shit lol, a sandhill crane saw it's own reflection in my paint and attacked itself essentially. It got the whole passenger side and the hood so good with peck/claw marks it was past the point of just buffing out. I caught it wreaking havoc too late to say the least.

But on the bright side, I get to rid the black beauty of swirl marks I put on her trying to rub off some hard water spots hahaha

Ah  that makes more sense. I've had that happen to me too, but not nearly bad enough to need to repaint the car. I had a Mazda3 parked at work and coworkers grabbed me and made me come outside, the sandhill was beating its face to a pulp on the side of my car. Doors were covered in blood. Luckily the scratches buffed out. Dumbass birds, I hate sandhills now. :frusty:

Lol I'm glad I'm not the only one (not trying to be an ass). The woman I delt with on the phone with the insurance company when I initially called laughed. I can see the humor in it, but seeing my brand new car stripped is not my idea of a good time.

Damn that sucks. I'm just glad the area of Florida I live in you don't see many sandhill cranes.

Already back together and painted. Wet sand and buff today/tomorrow. Looks better than when I got it.

Looks great. Now make sure never to wax it so the sandhills stay far, far away. ;)

BTW, how is the finish around the door jambs? That was something I noticed on a previous car that had body work done to it, you'd open the doors and right in the door jambs you'd feel a very rough edge where they had taped a sheet over the door opening.

Hahah I have a car cover now. No more bird incidents! I'll update you on the paint once I get it back

I'm thinking of getting a car cover, not for birds but for squirrels. Have a tree near the driveway and I got to spray squirrel crap off my car almost every day.
