Haven't received my 2015 GT yet so I'm not sure what will fit etc although I can't imagine any of them should be an issue.

I feel like this is one of those things that you can't go wrong...BUT here I am anyway at 2:30am.

So..what have you guys used so far?

I only know of two types

1) magnet

2) that clip thingy that squeezes together to hold phone in place (there has to be a better name for it..)

#2 is the old school one. Has anyone ever had problems with the magnet? I have a galaxy s5. Anything falling off? Any horror stories. Any brands to avoid like the plague. Any that are highly recommended?

Mine's in my pocket or the cup holder. I don't really do much with my phone while in the car. I have Bluetooth for making calls and most of my music is on a usb drive that I plug in. I already have nav and texting is a no-no for me. Not sure what else you might need it for continuous use.

I will be watching this thread. I use my Samsung S5 for GPS, so for me it is highly desireable to mount high on the dash. Just to the right of the steering wheel. High enough so my eyes have to travel the least distance from my road view, but phone not blocking the main viewing area of the road ahead (meaning OK for top of phone to be above dash level, but only possible obscure road immediately in front of hood).

I would be looking for a bracket to mount a squeeze type Proclip like I use in other cars now. I use an Otterbox case so I do not believe magnet types would work for me.

My understanding was that the OP was asking, for those who DO mount their phones, what are they using. As opposed to saying why he should not need to mount his phone. IMHO :)

Haha ty dave. Yes I want a mount. My cupholders are filled with water..keys..other things I throw in there, and I use my phone for GPS and would like it mounted.

I just took delivery of my car on monday. I see there is BARELY any room to the right of the steering wheel. Placing it in the cigarette lighter might be to low as that guy linked.

Does anyone have pics of where they've placed theirs? My friend recommended to the left of the steering wheel but a lot of the surface is curved. Would love to see some pics or recommendations!

edit: dave you and I are using the same phone with the same case! and looking for the same thing haha. the magnets can be stuck inbetween the case and the phone so it shouldn't be an issue I've heard. these mounts come with a magnet you put in your phone.

Here's pics of the magnetic mount I'm using from Scosche. So far it's working well.

D avid,
Thank you for posting your pictures. If more members could post pictures of their phone mount in use, that would be a great benefit to this thread. :-)

Personally, my first choice is for my phone to be mounted at the upper part of/ top of the dash, just to the right of the steering wheel (at about 2 o'clock). I use the phone for GPS. So that location takes my eyes away from the road the least. any info or photos of bones / mounts at that location are especially appreciated. :-)
