Has anyone else installed the Ford Racing diff cover?

I noticed there is a slight difference in the fill point compared to the stock cover. I also noticed it took slightly less gear fluid as well.

One other thing that caught my attention is that the Ford Racing drain plug was not magnetic and it is slightly smaller than the stock magnetic drain plug so I couldn't use it.

Just curious about anyone else’s experience with it.

I'm not an expert, my experience is trial and error ,when I was Drag Racing Moroso offered a Diff cover for the Chevy 12 bolt , cool looking gold aluminum with magnetic fill plug . The plug was lower than the side stock fill hole plug by a good margin. I called an inquired ,I was told less fluid less drag . I didn't like that idea so I used it but filled to stock capacity thru side hole .
Less fluid less drag .

What is the advantage of these covers?

I like the finned one some guys here were discussing but they were pretty pricey and I dont run hard enough to bling that hard. šŸ˜†

They have some padded bolts that put a very small amount of pressure on the bearing caps of the diff. When hard launching it just helps keep the bearing caps from moving under that hard pressure.

You can see the two bolts that press against the bearing caps in this pic.

Would of been nice to see the full cover . As stated above bearing support .
In your OP you were only concerned with fill hole position. All good

Yes, my only concern is the fluid amount and would prefer a magnetic drain plug.
