Good morning,
this is my first thread, I been reading on this forum since 2017 when I bought my car but never thought of creating an account.
recently I had an issue and I want some opinions before I start digging.
im a truck driver and I don’t drive my car much, but I do leave it at the yard where I park my truck, in the past I had some critters chew my ac cable and some stuff from the engine compartment. A couple of weeks ago I can to my car and it would not start. Everything would power on but NOT CRANK. I check the battery, shorted the starter solenoid and it cranks and starts, drives normal, I turned if off a d check the relay and I can crank it from there and it starts, switched the relays and it doesn’t fix the issue. Relay is fine but it won’t receive a signal from the start button to crank the engine. I followed the cables and most of it seems fine, before I dig into the fuse panel and start following it to the firewall, does anyone know of any common issues that could cause this? Safety anti-theft? Error in the starter buttons itself? I don’t want to undo anything as the car has 80k miles and other than full bolt on and ford track suspension it has never had anything done to it.
